fury definitely gave the air a boxing lesson then

just look at this thread in the current scene. guys who scored for fury cant even agree on the rounds they gave ngannou. there are enough of those rounds for someone to score it either way.

right, in this case the herd thought fury would easily beat the 0 fight mma guy. he was an overwhelming favourite. the vast majority believed he would be winning rounds handily

it makes far more sense that people score in a way that confirms their beliefs than in a way contradicting them

Exact same scores as you Ezzard. Dull fight but Fury won it, not sure how anyone had Ngannou winning it tbh.

maybe dr can explain how he had ngannou winning the 2nd, and then gil can explain how he had ngannou winning the 10th. and then all the guys who say that fury clearly won can put their cards together and have ngannou ahead

Not saying he necessarily won all of these but arguments could be made for Ngannou winning any of 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8. Maybe 10.

exactly, next to nothing split them in many rounds and ngannou was landing just as much or more power shots in many of them. sure if we're counting just flick jabs it's a near shutout for tyson

many of the cards for tyson are giving ngannou different rounds than each other too, it was that type of fight

Fury lost BIG TIME , I did'nt score the rubbish , just could'nt be arsed in fact had no intention of watching , but turned the tv on and this shite came up , ( got some sort of box , my grandaughter set up , i get most fights ) but just like the fight in general the reception was shite glitching all the time , so much so that i could'nt be arsed with it , i just turned it off .

But regardless Fury lost big time , he lost , lots of fans , he lost respect from the fans he had left , he lost that aura of invincibility his fan boys , claimed he had , he lost his bottle and pulled out of the Usyk fight , not that i believe he ever wanted it , he lost probably millions in monetery terms , has his performance has devalued himself , . FURY IS A BIG LOSER ALL ROUND

your knowledge of how those boxes work is very similar to mine. My daughter (she's 12) set ours up as I couldn't figure it put it in a drawer. I still don't know how to work it properly so still buy the fights.

LOL , yep same here ,, this ones 14 , she bought me a thing called a chrome cast , set it up for me it worked through my phone its for when i go away , so i can use it in my caravan or my boat , but its in the draw i just can't work it out , so she came up with another one , alls i had to do was give her my computer and my credit card , and she bought it of the net for me , i get chanels from all over the world , this ones easy though i just plug it in , hdmi cable to the tele , and it plugs in to the modem ,and she taught me how to wi fi it to my phone , so i can use it while i'm away ,, I thught i was so clever until not long ago it was playing up , and her 6 year old sister said , i can fix it popa , , she walked behind the tele , turned everything off and back on , and presto it worked , she then explained , you have to reset it popa ,,

I get hundreds of chanels , mind you there not much use i can't speak russian , french or indian  ,,, but its good for the fights i can get a lot , although if its a good one i don't want to miss , i still go the old fashioned route and buy it , i don't want to risk it glitching , so then its buy and bbq day .

Shite like Fury i turn this on because i don't care if it glitches , i'll turn it off , and it sort of makes me feel like i'm protesting in my own way , by saying fook you i'm not paying for this shite

96-93 Fury.

Not an easy fight to score because so little was landed cleanly but Fury clearly outlanded Ngannou in more rounds. Only the knockdown made the scores anywhere close.

From reading and hearing all the fallout after the fight I really thought Fury was clearly beaten but now I’ve seen it I thought Fury won. He wasn’t great and Ngannou was very strong and better than expected but I think it’s clear Fury was looking past Ngannou towards the Usyk fight. Fury expected an easy win and to blow a few cobwebs away before fighting Usyk and paid the price of overlooking Ngannou.

Barry McGuigan was posting on Twitter that Ngannou was a β€œclear winner” but didn’t get the decision, he later posted he hasn’t even seen the fight!

For those who had it a draw or Ngannou winning what were your round by round scorecards, be interesting to see what rounds you gave to each fighter.

Listing those names against Fury highlights the other reason fans have had enough of him because it's an accumulation of factors which has made him so unlikeable. Those guys fought the best and then the other best again and again. Arguments against Floyd ducking Pacquiao in his prime aside. Fury has beaten one of the best bordering on retirement and has then cherry picked opponents while telling the best guys that they're not worthy because he would beat them anyway before facing worse opponents.

(Plus, I'm not a massive fan of most of those that you mentioned because of their attitudes and/or failed tests anyway though I can respect their boxing skill.)

Basically he has pushed his luck too far. McGregor is a comparable example in recent years as he did the same in MMA. I was never a fan but he had a huge following while most have now turned on him as being an embarrassment due to his actions. The act for both of them got old and people were no longer entertained inside or outside the ring while their inconsistent statements were never backed up.

You can make all the same arguments against many other boxers.

Ali became the puppet of violent racist group who believed white people were created in a laboratory.

Fury is no different. But he gets different treatment. I'm not on any side. Just interested why he gets singled out.

Jones has more depth in his resume than Fury.

Most people don't actually like Floyd. I know I haven't met many that do, most people tuned in hoping to see him lose. He did face better competition than Fury albeit with caveats. He's not a good example to help your case.

Ali's racial/religious opinions are seen as a product of a turbulent time. People look back on the era as racially volatile and most people of the era had an emotionally charged opinions which seems surreal today. Fury has made controversial discriminatory statements in the modern age where people don't expect it as much. Even if you see that as slightly different, you can't compare the two directly like that and expect the same result. Plus Ali faced everyone and his legacy in the ring is there for all to see. Fury's is not.

I had 95-94 Ngannou but some rounds really could've gone either way. Wouldn't have argued with a draw and still don't see a fury victory as the complete robbery people claimed. Definitely feel like Ngannou just edged it though

well even just quickly taking scores from guys on this thread who scored it for fury, there was a mix of giving ngannou rounds 2,3,7,8, and 10. i've also seen people give ngannou the 4th, and it was one of his better compubox rounds if you care about that stuff

if you look at average round scores by over 400 boxrec users, there are 6 rounds that are either for ngannou or within a 58-42 split of who people had winning: 2,3 ,4, 7, 8, 10

the official cards were split on 2,4, and 10 too. pretty understandable to me in this type of fight
