Selling or smoking weed as a teenager is very low on the criminal or immoral scale for most people. It wouldn't even put him in the worst 90% of boxers when you have legitimate drug cheats, domestic abusers, sex offenders, bullies, bigots, narcissists, murderers, and more all riddled throughout the sports history and even in the recent history. He managed to get up off the couch as a stoner to becoming a champ which should be commended, not really sure it's bad enough to try and vilify him about though.
It wasn’t just selling little ten pound bags to his mates though was it, he was caught with a sizeable amount of it.

The laws are there for a reason, if every slimeball waster decided to make a living selling drugs and not paying tax on earnings then the whole economy suffers and normal law abiding citizens are disincentivised to work or contribute positively to society.

So is your issue that he's a tax avoider or that it was "larger" amounts of weed? Also, I really hate to break it to you but 200 grams is not that sizeable of an amount for such a low level drug as cannabis. I also hate to break it to you but most of these boxers will be paid into an off-shore account and will pay minimal tax.

The quantity was enough that Joshua was lucky not to do jail time.

Some seem to find that behavior somehow commendable. Not sure why? But I make no apologies for being critical of drug peddlers.

Thankfully the law caught up with him and forced him to choose a better road.

Both.

I believe he was caught with 8 oz so he had probably just picked up a 9 bar and offloaded one on the way home. Which means he's not exactly Dushane but nor is he just a cheeky little teenager buying half an ounce and bagging it up for his mates to smoke at a party that weekend. He's higher up the food chain than the little runners who'll be dropping the stuff off for him, he was having a negative effect on their lives as well as the people consuming his drugs.

"Most of these boxers" ....... You think for example that Bradley Davies who fought Fury last night employs an accountant to advise him of the benefits of off shore trusts ? I hate to break it to you but of the approximately 1100 active professional boxers in the UK only a tiny handful will be utilising tax loopholes.

I'm not sure what your argument is ..... is making a living by breaking the law and selling illegal drugs absolutely fine in your opinion ?

How many people have we ever heard say, I'm so glad I took drugs.

Not many. Not compared to all the horror stories.

'I only started out smoking some weed and it just escalated from there.'

All too common a story.

I'd prefer my children didn't buy drugs off some scumbag on a street corner but I can't tell others how to bring up their kids.

you are clueless, marijuana has loads of proven benefits. it's legalized in many parts of the world, and even in some areas where it's not there are medical marijuana cards for people to get exemptions because of its proven health benefits

just do a quick google and there are loads of testimonials of people saying it changed their lives. just one here.

granted, you couldnt tell the different between robert garcia and aj, so im not sure you'll comprehend it anyway

"my pain levels have completely dropped: how medical marijuana changed my life:"

https://www.theguardian.com/society/202 ... ed-my-life

and a study

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3998228/
The response rate was 94%. Mean and median ages were 49.3 and 51 years respectively. Ninety-seven per cent of respondents used cannabis primarily for chronic pain. Average pain improvement on a 0–10 pain scale was 5.0 (from 7.8 to 2.8), which translates to a 64% relative decrease in average pain. Half of all respondents also noted relief from stress/anxiety, and nearly half (45%) reported relief from insomnia. Most patients (71%) reported no adverse effects, while 6% reported a cough or throat irritation and 5% feared arrest even though medical cannabis is legal in Hawai‘i. No serious adverse effects were reported.

These results suggest that Cannabis is an extremely safe and effective medication for many chronic pain patients. Cannabis appears to alleviate pain, insomnia, and may be helpful in relieving anxiety. Cannabis has shown extreme promise in the treatment of numerous medical problems and deserves to be released from the current Schedule I federal prohibition against research and prescription.
