Ed is big upping Andy cruz like I have never seen before. And fair enough incredible talent. But why is he moving so slow?

Cruz has a billion amature fights including some 5 rounder wbss. Mainly in the no headgear round judging era, so the transitions not as big as it use to be.

I get opponents won’t be cheap but surely this is the type of talent you invest in. Been 8 months he has fought 2 no name Mexicans, about to fight a third…

Andy beat keyshawn to gold in the Olympics, is 4 years older and better… but keyshawn is 10-0 boxrec top 10. Cruz is 2-0 boxrec boxrec 35.

Won Olympic gold 2.5 years ago. Last amature foght 2 and a bit years ago. And is undoubtedly very good.

Sure prospects take time, but he is a 28 year old gold medalist.

As stated above keyshawn is 10-0 top 10.

Harry Garside who Cruz beat in the Olympics got 3-0 with decent fights, went on I’m a celebrity get me out of there, then had 10 amature foghts and qualified for the Paris Olympics.

The other bronze medalist is 5-0 pro, and back in ams probably go to Olympics again I guess. Hard to look up Armenian qualification…

Cruz has 10x the talent, and is prime. I’m just surprised he is fighting just his 3rd nothing fight. I’m not surprised people don’t wanna fight him unless the cash is good, but for all the yapping Hearn so far hasn’t pushed Cruz at all and I feel Cruz is at risk of wasting some good years.

Loma the gold standard was world champion less than 2 years after he won gold and left the amatures (not counting wbss.) Cruz shouldent aim for Loma schedule. But will be a shame if he waits till 30 to be in real fights.

McCrory will start face and win four of the first five rounds, then Edgar's pressure and power will pay off. That's my take. Either way, should be a good fight on a good card.

I have seen McCrory a few times live after the Bunn fight and expecetd much more. Either he was just going through the motions and fights to his opponents level or he is just as good as I have observed which will not be enough to overcome Berlanga. I hope I am wrong but I see a win for Berlanga here,

I think you're very likely right. Good interview with Berlanga in BN this week, seems a very level headed guy, has just moved to Orlanda as it's quieter.

Can’t see how someone can give Aponte round 7 either. He landed a shot but then was responded with something like 5 or 6 back to back left and right shots to the body and head.

despite being wobelled vargas bossed the rest of the round, including after the shaky spell. he's looking very powerful but ironically only has 9 stoppages in 18 fights
