Ron Lyle was stabbed whilst in the pen in the 60's and apparently had his death certificate signed by a doctor.

A broken pelvis bone, bone became 'septic' 1940, lost 1 yr. of his career smack bang in the middle of his peak and was predicted to never box again as well as walk with a permanent limp. Came back shot right up to No.1 again and stayed there till 1948.

Britain's most feared fighter at that time Scotland's Bert Gilroy!
