Been some time since I watched either fight but wasn’t one of them carried out on a stretcher?

Your welcome. Pretty sure Williams was carried out on a stretcher. Their rematch was pretty good too.
Prince Charles Williams was one hell of a brave fighter. He didn´t have a glorious amateur background and was thrown a little to the wolves.
He lost his pro debut, after beating some journeyman he fought undefeated future Cruiserweight champ (koed Glen McCrory!) Jeff Lampkin and was stopped.
Soon after he took on undefeated heavyweight puncher Reggie Gross (stopped undefeated Bert Cooper, gave Tyson a spirited 1 round and lasted 8 with Bruno, was convicted for 3 murders and has been in prison since 1989). He lasted a round.
Next up was undefeated Anthony Witherspoon (7-0 7 kos) the younger brother of 2 time heavyweight champ Tim. Prince Charles was dropped hard in the 1st in what looked like another routine ko for Anthony. Charles survived and took it to Witherspoon and dominated the rest of the fight to win an eight round decision.
Next up was a comebacking former 2 time (and future 3 time) world light-heavy champ Marvin Johnson. Marvin was a aggresive southpaw puncher who beat everyone except the elite fighters. He dominated the 1st 9 rounds though Charles remained calm throughout. In the 10th Charles had Marvin hurt. This performance changed his entire career.
He ran up 9 straight victories including a revenge with over Lampkin as well as picking up USBA belt. These victories got him a world title crack against Bobby Czyz.
Czyz knocked Williams down hard in the second, hurt him again at the start of the 3rd forcing a standing count. All looked lost but Prince Charles came back banging to make the 3rd one of the rounds of the year.
He dominated the rest of the bout forcing Bobby to retire after 9 with facial injuries. The Prince finally became king.
He was champion for 4 years, he made 8 defenses before Henry Maske outboxed over 12. He managed 3 solid wins before challenging a peak James Toney.
He attacked non-stop but could not do anything with Toney who scored a classic knockout in the 12th.
Then the 2 fights with Sosa before a farewell win in France where he was quite popular after having 3 fights (2 title defenses) there.
It´s a little sad that Prince Charles Williams is only remembered for the Toney loss. He fights with Czyz (they had an exciting rematch where he stopped Bobby again who would then win a cruiserweight title), demolitions of James Kinchen,Vicent Boulware and Freddie Delgado were terrific as well as his thriller over Frankie Swindell should be remember.
Very courageous fighter who could box or slug when needed. One of my favourite fighters.

She was married to Johnny McClain. I had to look up his record on Boxrec though I do remember him being the first to beat Ole Klementson who was a terrific puncher.

Best comeback, last minute KO I can remember in the last 50 years of boxing. Weaver-Tate was good too but Jackson had been pounding the shite out of Castro for eight rounds and up to the point of Castro landing the left hook in the 9th.

Prince Charles Williams was one of my favourite fighters, back then, particularly after stopping Czyz in their 1st fight.
As you say, survived a bomb of a right hand in the 2nd round, a real one punch, heavy knockdown and was getting pummelled in the first half of round 3 but came back hard, with his uppercuts being the shot, as I remember. Always had talent, good size, hand speed, power and a good chin.
Danny Williams vs Mark Potter was the standout for me. Williams, with a dislocated shoulder, right hand unusable and dangling by his side, had only his left and pulled out a tremendous punch. A corkscrew uppercut / left hook being the punch that swung the W his way. Epic moment.

I may have posted before, but Castillo v Corales was the main event of my stag weekend. A lot of the 14 of us were boxing nerds - and worked in the periphery of the industry, I was European GC of the private equity company that owned the hotel group that owned Ceasers, my Best Man was GC of Heineken outside Amsterdam and they had Tecate as one of their brands which sponsored the fight - the meets were awesome. Best ones were breakfast.
But 7 of them saw that as the only fight they've ever been to. At a pre-fight drink event, my dear mate Trevor, an excellent cricketer, got chatting to Sugar Shane Mosely He had no idea who he was. They are still mates.

what a crazy one that was. just an utterly insane finish to an insane fight. almost totally forgotten is the rematch where corrales got smashed, hardly any fight could live up to the first. although it kinda annoyed me, corrales was very smart to spit the mouth guard
