Surely not? I mean there’s some TV money surely and he’s a half decent name. And the card absolutely stinks so they need something. I mean I know Hughie needs to get on with his career (although I can’t believe he’s 29… he looks more like 49)
They will be paying his opponent good money to get knocked out, would probably need to sell 200 tickets to cover that purse.
Money is tight because Price is earning, and her opponent they will be paying too.
Might even have to pay money out of their own pocket to pay for the hapless opponent.
Wow
I would’ve thought with TV money that would cover it.
Price doesn’t deserve to be paid more that £5k. How much do you think she’s getting?
I think Price had a big signing on fee and salary I think, they are trying to earn money back too, the yank isn't getting out of her back yard, to go into the lions den to lose her titles, without 500k.
That's why the undercard is so poor

That's top dollar for a women's world title fight, if she wasn't getting top dollar she wouldn't come.
They know Price needs a title to get built into a profitable entity, and they are milking it. They are cashing out.
Other fighters won't touch her as the Welsh girl will be very difficult to beat, moreso at home.

she's 40, 12-3-1, and hasnt won a fight in 2 years. if they couldnt get her there is also the wbc champ from croatia, who has been brought in to lose and done so multiple times. seems like a big overestimation of her worth, i bet they could get her or someone else over with far less

My figures certainly aren't set in stone, but what's for certain is that the show is losing money, hence the undercard

McCaskill won’t be getting 500k for it unless we’re talking Swedish Krone.
I agree with your points though re: Price having a decent signing on fee and it’s been widely reported Boxxer were overpaying fighters to get them to sign with them out of the gate.
Boxxer are getting a fixed amount per year from Sky (reportedly £9m) in addition to ticket sales and whatever they get from Peacock. Last year they spread it out over more shows whilst now they’ll probably only do 8 shows across the year but have some of them as more meaningful (like Wardley/Clarke and Buatsi/Azeez). This could be supplemented by PPVs but difficult to see where that comes from unless they get either Eubank or Yarde (to do the Buatsi fight).
This will be probably be the cheapest show of they year for them in terms of purses.

he is definitely learning on the job which is scary and impressive considering the platform, like doing your HNC in construction building a stadium

It is bad, saw one presser trying to big it up.
I imagine they are contracted to pay Price good money, and are struggling to get the money back.
I don't think any of the undercard fighters are ticket sellers
Edwards is a big seller and Tommy Ward is a big step up for him.
