Yep - absolutely. I was going to go but a mate invited me to see Bruce Springsteen in Dublin. We will watch it together. It's hardly a fortune.

Cost isn't the point, I'm sure most of us can easily afford it. It's the principle for me. Boxing in the UK should never have opened the PPV floodgates, especially when the broadcasters are blatantly ripping the piss with it. They even show adverts throughout, ffs.

The adverts are a pisstake. If you are paying that amount of money for PPV, you should be spared the amount of ads you get with your PPV.

In China we will get the fight probably on delayed coverage but Canelo and the big American fights are shown free, gratis and for nowt on their TV channel there and live! It is probably the case in a lot of the planet, the UK might be one of the few countries where the fight is going on air for £25 and PPV.

BB - agreed it may not be about the actual amount of money it costs and if you have your principles I fully respect that. Whether we like it or not, that's just the new business model. As a counter argument, a lot more top level fights are happening than in a long time because they are being better remunerated due to PPV.

I think a lot of top level fights have been blocked/ postponed until irrelevancy due to ppvs, tbh. Look at the sorry state boxing was in until Saudi money came along

£25 irks me - but it’s 3 pints where I live.

Given the scale of the event, I’d probably pay up to about £40.

Brighton mate. We are in the £6.50 to £7 range for a pint here, so you’d get a bit of change from £25.

However, I paid £33 for 3 negronis yesterday afternoon that we drank in under 5 minutes.

Last week I paid £22 for two Burger King meals, £25 for fish and chips and spent £10 a day in Starbucks.

This is a huge fight, featuring a P4P great for all the heavyweight championship baubles. There is loads of beef/intrigue/unknowns going in. It has a 200 page thread on here!

The sporting quality of the contest is largely irrelevant to me in this scenario. It’s all about the drama and watching it unfold in real time with loved ones around me!
