How did Andrei survive 9 rounds

“Keep in mind I haven’t been in the ring for a year,” Janibek said through an interpreter. “It was a good experience for me to come back and shake the rust. ... He’s a good boxer, he has a very good team of nice people. I want to wish him (luck).”

Janibek had Andrei in very deep trouble in round 2 but didn't press the advantage home, so put himself in for a long fight.

From round 3 to round 7 Andrei just kept in ultra close attempting to nullify Janibek's power, with some success, but was still copping a beating. By round 8 you could see that Andrei was running out of steam and late in round 9 started getting hit heavily, before the ref ended it.

He was comfortable. He probably needed the rounds anyway.

Janibek should move up or he'd probably get stopped by a no-name.

nasty beating, andrei tried but soaked up career changing punishment. one of those fights where you have to look beyond the fact that a guy is merely fighting back and save him from himself. he stumbled or sagged dozens of times
