Title not on the line.
bit odd as they've approved far worse, but fair play. I think Warrington is a big and watchable enough name regardless of title. I think this is a cash out for Josh but I also thought he's lose against Selby and Frampton, and also thought Wood would walk through him. Hope it's a good fight. Also hope Cacace is making big money.
It's not. The IBF don't bend for anyone. If they won't for Canelo and Usyk then they certainly won't for Josh.
fair point. The IBF were one of the most corrupt circa 2000 but perhaps they've turned a corner since the FBI involvement and it was a long time ago - I'm not an expert by any stretch. I'm just a cynic where all the sanctioning bodies are concerned.

Easy for Warrington.
Your confidence never waivers eh Lep
Its a nightmare style matchup for Cacace, who I do rate but can't see being able to keep up when Josh does his punches in bunches thing. Josh will have to be willing to box a bit and give ground to Cacace but if he fights this fight with any semblance of fight IQ it should be straightforward.

If he doesn't get get stopped, Josh will win on points.

Could be the best fight of the night by a long way this one. I’m slightly favouring Cacace as I think he can answer whatever Warrington brings. But Josh definitely looked the business last time up until he got caught.
Can’t wait!

This is how I see it.
Warrington’s 4/1 to win on points on Sky Bet. That feels like great value to me.
I’m not doubting Cacace can dig a bit but is it not the case that he looked more of a puncher because Cordina was weigh drained & potentially off the same gear the Simms gym were dabbling in?
Cacace had a long run of points wins against lesser opposition pre-Cordina too.
Warrington’s also got a really good chin or at least had one up to now. Even in the Wood fight I think it was 5 huge, flush shots it took to put him over & he was arguably ready to continue.
I’m talking myself into going big on Warrington here.

A lot of Cacace's points wins were close, that's why I favour Warrington to win if it goes the distance. I do think Cacace can stop him and that's the reason I'm not betting on it.

Cacaece never looked that great until Cordina
Is that an indication that Cordina had gone back?

Cordina was shot, but Cacace surely has enough to deal with the Leeds Headbutter. He'll stop Josh who is as past it as a Cornish pasty lobbed out the bins of Greggs a week ago. Josh's major success will be headbutts before getting sparked upon which his father will claim a retrospective global conspiracy against Space Invaders.
I am glad the governing body called bullshit on this being sanctionable.

Assuming most people are confidently picking Joshua, Sheeraz, Buatsi, Kelly (I think?) and Chamberlain, this one surely has to be the best match up on the card.
Glad to see the gentlemanly spirit on display too, I’ve often rooted against Warrington but it’ll all be about may the best man win tomorrow.

I think Cacace stops Josh. Just too big, fresh and physically strong.

Credit to Cacace. He was awkward. I thought Warrington would do way better than that. Cacace will be an awkward customer. I thought the size difference was a big deal in the fight. I think Cacace is a bit better than I thought though. Hes not particularly great and seemed predictable with the uppercut and coming up and under but he was too much for Warrington. Jury is still out on Cacace as to how good he is for me but hes certainly better than Josh at this point and probably gives anyone in the division a good scrap.

Good Cacace win, despite fighting Warrington on the inside.

Warrington has had an excellent career and far exceeded what I thought he'd achieve. At the time of him capturing the English title I honestly didn't think he could go much further....maybe scrape a British title at best.
Josh has always given his best and went on a fantastic run of winning form between 2014 & 2019.

How did people score it? I had to leave the house for a meal after 4 rounds & I had it 2-2 at that point so I was quite surprised at the wide scores as people online seemed to be suggesting it could go either way.

I had it wide. I thought it was quite sad (in a sincere way) when he laid his gloved down after.
He's had a great career, worked full time too for a long time, came up from small.hall and stayed loyal to the same manager all the way through. I respect thar a lot. And he's now bought into VIP company.

Do you mean the promotional company? If so, I believe Wood has let him promote under the banner and has even agreed to stand his losses in the early days.l and give advice, etc.
