Decent little series. Jake Paul is a big lad. I have Tyson winning the fight inside 2 rounds.Controversial wrote: ↑08 Nov 2024, 09:56 I started the Netflix series on the build up to the fight. Two things I learnt, Tyson lost 26lbs when the fight was cancelled due to his stomach ulcer and two Tyson never brushes his teeth, this was confirmed by his daughter and Tyson himself.

Re: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - November 15, 2024
I can't see Tyson winning by stoppage, with the bigger gloves, short rounds and his age I think JP will be too young, fit and strong for him. I can't believe I'm saying that either but a 58 year old against a 27 year old is a big ask. Tyson didn't really hurt the 210lb RJJ when they had their "fight" in 2020, Tyson was 54 and Jones 51 so if Tyson couldn't hurt an old, shot, blown up SMW/LHW Jones I'm not sure how he's going to hurt someone in their physical prime who will likely have the weight advantage too. Tyson looked knackered at the end so he won't be any better at 58. Hopefully I'm wrong and Tyson flattens him but I think it's unlikely in a 8x2 fight.MasterG wrote: ↑08 Nov 2024, 14:55Decent little series. Jake Paul is a big lad. It's all rather silly
Re: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - November 15, 2024
Tyson has 30 seconds to win, he probably won't. I don't think Jake will want to finish him early as it exposed the whole thing as a sham so I think Tyson's corner pull him out after 2-3 rounds when he's exhausted and losing on all the cards.

Re: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - November 15, 2024
I don't care much for Paul but he's proven himself a legitimate journeyman/trialhorse cruiserweight making his heavyweight debut. Mike Tyson 20 years ago couldn't beat the journeyman/trialhorse super heavyweight Kevin McBride.
Sure Tyson "redeemed" himself "winning" in an exhibition against Corey T-Rex Sanders and "drawing" with Roy Jones Jr since then, but we're talking about a man whose nearly 60 years old.
The only man I can think of in boxing history who basically mirrors Tyson on terms of longevity is Jem Mace who was 59 (I think) when he fought Charlie Mitchell and lost in three rounds. Mace would keep doing exhibitions into his 70s.
I'd like Tyson to win because it'd be that "boomer" generation beating this social media generation, but I can't see Mike Tyson winning (if indeed it's on the level). The 30 second training clips haven't convinced me that he can be that fast and that strong for longer than two rounds. If the ring was 16 foot square inside the ropes he'd have a greater chance but I don't see Jake Paul ever agreeing to that.
I'll be tuning regardless. I hope to Jesus Christ Almighty God that Amanda Serrano gets the win and Mike Tyson at the very least looks competitive or win. I'm getting Rocky Balboa vs Mason Dixon vibes off the whole thing.
Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all

I won't be watching it and I think there will be an agreement in place. Listening to Teddy Atlas, he might agree with me.

No.
It will be dreadful to see a 58 year person getting beat up by such an entitled, deluded, nasty piece of work who is 32 years younger.

Not stopping up to watch a draw. Not sure how serious the fight will be, so cannot justify missing my sleep. I'll definitely watch it the following morning though.

Definitely not staying up to watch live, and probably won't even bother trying to watch the highlights unless I hear Tyson has won by brutal ko.

No chance.
Even free I'm not watching this load of tripe.
This is just a glorified exhibition.

Re: Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson | Netflix - November 15, 2024
Farce all around, Paul should be ashamed of himself insisting on fighting a near 60 crippled old mentally unstable stoner, not as ashamed as the Texas commission though for sanctioning this as a proper legit contest, least with the exhibition who cares what they do?, surely they can't be pre arranged agreements but I wouldn't be surprised, knocking out this version of Mike Tyson isn't a good look, didn't he humiliate himself enough losing to Tommy Fury??
I like what Jake Paul's been doing in boxing mostly, his own careers been trash but I enjoy his shows and he looks after his fighters from what I gather
Still I can't help but pull for the convicted rapist, Jake's taking a liberty

Late money coming in on Tyson....
He's around +175 now.. was riding near +250 since the fight was announced until the beginning of Nov.

Watched third one of the Netflix series earlier, showed a bit of Tyson sparring and I didn’t think he looked great, seemed knackered in one of the short clips. JP was weighing 223 and said he hopes to be a few pounds heavier but struggling to keep the weight on and he thinks Tyson will be around 230

I can't see it being serious.
The fight must surely choreographed to be a draw.
Tyson had no stamina 20 years ago; that's not going to be any different now, so a serious fight cannot be had.
Besides, if something happened to Tyson, the whole sport would be on trial.

If you read the comments on YouTube accompanying the pieced together, sped up clips of Tyson sparring, you'd be on the floor laughing like a Smash Martian.Controversial wrote: ↑12 Nov 2024, 11:35 Watched third one of the Netflix series earlier, showed a bit of Tyson sparring and I didn’t think he looked great, seemed knackered in one of the short clips. Apparently he's a beast, the best ever and even at his age, Paul is getting smoked.
It's as if the concept of ageing doesn't exist in their parallel universes.
