What's Crawford's walking around weight?
He looks as big, if not bigger than Alvarez and he's not fat with it either.
Good to see Canelo in a superfight against an ATG.
His recent fights have been dull affairs against opponents who were only there for the cheque.
I want to see Canelo fighting the likes of Benavidez or Bivol again.
Thankfully he's not got another William Scull to bore us all to death again.
Bud is a future HOFer for sure, and he looks big in the photos, but he is going up against a much heavier man, so who knows what will happen?

We'll see, but where 400lb BoMac in the frame? Hidin' with Biden?

Goodness, it must have been hell for him to get down to 147, never mind 140 and 135 he used to fight at.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 May 2025, 08:37When he we at welter, he was walking around 180+ i believe.Syntax Error wrote: ↑05 May 2025, 11:28 What's Crawford's walking around weight?

- Craw doing this for his biggest purse ever.
Canelo seems to have set the all time earnings record, so this too is strictly huge $$$ that Turk is playing with since he got into boxing.
Canelo in spite of being younger at age 35, has more than double ring rounds than Craw, and eventually that'll catch up to him. For this fight Canelo is the biggest, strongest, most accomplished fighter Craw has ever faced, so this will be one of force vs speed of which is the only chance Craw has.
Canelo took GGG bombs easily, but he won't make the mistake of trying to catch up to Craw who would have to debut Cassius Clay new style for that to happen, so eventually this may come to a big combo that turns the fight around late.
Obviously the Future$$$ is going to influence the officiating with boxing trying to milk Canelo's Big Fights before he retires, sooner rather than later.

Official: Not buying talk of new date for Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford
A report from Turki Alalshikh’s Ring Magazine stating that the Saudi boxing financier is moving his Saul “Canelo” Alvarez-Terence Crawford fight from September 12 in Las Vegas to September 13 (a Saturday) at one of five possible US locations is being painted as a second misdirection campaign, an industry insider told Boxing Scene on Tuesday.
Following a Ring report in February stating that Alvarez was interested in fighting Jake Paul, only for Alvarez to turn to then-IBF super middleweight titleholder William Scull for a Cinco de Mayo weekend bout in Saudi Arabia that was widely panned for its inactivity, Tuesday’s report is said to be another turn toward gamesmanship.
The boxing official who spoke to Boxing Scene said Alvarez-Crawford streamer Netflix is set to report in the near future that the fight is staying right where it was originally announced – Friday, September 12, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Why the “news” of the new date and location has been floated is unknown, except that promoters can engage in gamesmanship when competing with others over dates – particularly the prized Mexican Independence Day weekend that undisputed 168lbs champion Alvarez has ruled for years.
As of now, the only other major bout that weekend is Naoya Inoue’s defense of his undisputed junior featherweight title against Murodjon “M.J.” Akhmadaliev in Tokyo on September 14.
Scheduling Alvarez versus unbeaten four-division champion Crawford on a Friday in an NFL stadium has seemed odd from the outset after Alalshikh took a financial bath when he staged his May 2 Times Square card in front of a small group of VIPs and then moving Mexico’s popular Alvarez off his traditional Cinco de Mayo weekend Saturday in Las Vegas to fight before another paltry crowd in Saudi Arabia.
For now, the fight is locked out of Saturday or Sunday at Allegiant Stadium by a UNLV football game September 13 and the possibility that the Las Vegas Raiders will play a home game there September 14. (Additionally, fight promoter and UFC president Dana White will also be staging UFC Noche in Guadalaraja, Mexico, on September 13.)
If the fight were to take place on a Friday, Alvarez-Crawford would start on a weeknight when those in the Pacific Time Zone are still getting home from work – further weakening the drawing power of that bout.
“The bloom is already off the Canelo rose after his fight in Saudi Arabia. How many are excited to watch this?” asked a veteran boxing insider talking separately from the other industry official.
Both spoke on the condition of anonymity because of existing business arrangements that could be compromised by speaking candidly on these matters.

Quite worrying, but not surprising, that 'The Ring' is being so blatantly used as a promotional tool for the Saudis, and spreading deliberate misinformation on their behalf.
Oscar would have been destroyed if he tried this, but I don't think anyone will be brave enough to jeopardise their relationship with His Excellency

TURKI ALALSHIKH CONFIRMS CANELO ALVAREZ VS. TERENCE CRAWFORD WILL BE PROMOTED BY SELA FOR RIYADH SEASON
Turki Alalshikh has confirmed that September's The Ring and undisputed super middleweight title clash between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will be promoted by Sela for Riyadh Season.
The mega-fight, in which Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will jump two weight classes from junior middleweight to the 168-pound limit to challenge Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs), also will take place Sept. 13, a day later than originally planned.
The broadcaster and the venue for Canelo vs. Crawford are yet to be decided upon.
Alalshikh wrote on X: "We have confirmed the promoter for Canelo vs. Crawford will be Sela for Riyadh Season. The broadcaster we have not decided yet but the date will be Saturday 13th September. More details soon."
Originally, Alvarez vs. Crawford was going to be promoted by Alalshikh and Dana White's TKO Boxing.
However, the fight between the Mexican icon and Crawford, of Omaha, Nebraska, is set to headline what will be the fourth Riyadh Season event outside of Saudi Arabia.
The first took place in August 2024 when Crawford picked up the WBA 154-pound title with a unanimous decision victory over Israil Madrimov in Los Angeles at BMO Stadium.
The second occurred a month later when Daniel Dubois stopped Anthony Joshua in five rounds to retain his IBF heavyweight championship at London's Wembley Stadium. And the third will take place this summer on July 19 when Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk clash for The Ring and undisputed heavyweight titles at the same 90,000-seater venue.
Las Vegas' 65,000-seater Allegiant Stadium was set to host Alvarez vs. Crawford, but there are now three cities in the running to hold what will be the biggest fight of 2025.
The Ring revealed earlier this week that Vegas, Los Angeles and New York City were all potential host candidates.
Regarding a broadcaster, the fight will be shown live on PPV and not on Netflix.

CANELO-CRAWFORD WILL OUTGROW MAYWEATHER-PACQUIAO, RICHARD SCHAEFER PREDICTS
Richard Schaefer has predicted that Canelo Alvarez’s September showdown with Terence Crawford will be "bigger than MayPac."
The former Golden Boy CEO worked closely alongside Floyd Mayweather during his fighting days and was even appointed CEO of Mayweather Promotions in June.
But he has since surfaced as Canelo’s business manager and flanked the Mexican icon during fight week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, when he beat William Scull on points at ANB Arena earlier this month.
Immediately after Canelo had beaten the Cuban, following 12 pedestrian rounds, Crawford was brought into the ring as it was officially confirmed by Turki Alalshikh, head of Riyadh Season and chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, that the pair will fight.
The clash will take place on Sept. 13, marking Mexican Independence Weekend, and will be the latest box office smash on Canelo’s resume.
Following his victory over Scull, Canelo, 34, is a two-time undisputed champion at super middleweight while Crawford, who is The Ring's No. 1 at 154lbs, was the first boxer in history to win all four belts in two weight classes (junior welterweight and welterweight).
As such, Schaefer believes a fight between them will hold unusual cultural significance and become the biggest fight since he started working in the sport.
That includes the 2015 mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, which was the richest in history thanks in no small part to the staggering 4.6million pay-per-view buys it amassed. He also believes it will eclipse Mayweather's fight with Canelo in 2013 and the Mexican's famous trilogy with Gennady Golovkin.
Schaefer told The Ring: “I’ve been involved since 2000 so that is 25 years and I don’t remember any fight bigger than Canelo-Crawford. It’s going to be the biggest fight in the sport for as long as I can remember.
“With Mayweather-Pacquiao, people hyped it up. It was a big success financially, but I think this can be equally as big of a success in that regard if not bigger.
“But I think Canelo-Crawford is a fight between two men truly in their prime.
“I do believe that experience is going to be a big factor in the fight and I do think size will to a certain extent. Crawford moved up to fight Israil Madrimov and was challenged by Madrimov. Some people even thought Madrimov won that fight and I’ll tell you one thing; Canelo is no Madrimov.
“Canelo has the best chin in boxing, no question about it. He has never been dropped, never been hurt and it’s going to be challenging for Crawford to really hurt Canelo.
“So I think it’s going to be a fascinating match. It’s going to be the biggest fight in modern history. I was fortunate enough to promote Mayweather-Canelo back in the day.
“This will be substantially bigger.”

I'd be stunned if it was half as big as Mayweather vs Pacquiao
That fight had been hyped up for years. This fight wasn't even thought of until like 6 months ago. It's more like a De La Hoya vs Hopkins, Leonard vs Hagler kinda test for the smaller fighter.

- Richard Schaefer is a crook. Canelo making a Billion$ will have to be seen to be believed. History of Schaefer was gutting coke ridden Golden Boy.
Moreover, this a fight that precious few fans were calling for between a 37 year old smaller guy with a limited trainer weighting in around 400-500lb and Canelo a bigger more accomplished fighter also with an obese limited trainer.
All Credit to Turki for making pigs in boxing fly as at least they are making mo'$$$ than otherwise.

Re: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford | PPV - September 13, 2025
Deal for Canelo-Crawford to stream on Netflix is imminent, officials say
Step one was to reunite with Dana White, Nick Khan and the new TKO boxing promotion.
That has put the imperative second step in progress, which is to bring the massive Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford undisputed super middleweight battle of four-division champions September 13 to the masses by placing it on Netflix.
With two industry officials telling BS that a deal is imminent, another says “the only way” to effectively maximize interest in the mega-fight is to bring the bout to the streaming platform that offers more than 300 million subscribers.
Netflix basked in a tsunami of streaming activity thanks to Mike Tyson’s November fight against Jake Paul, which lured a global audience of more than 108 million live viewers.
While Alvarez-Crawford isn’t expected to fare as well, it will generate a widened audience for a sport that has been beset by diminishing returns in the pay-per-view business due to piracy and a lack of high-profile super-fights.
Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh hinted on social media Sunday that his reunion with UFC CEO White as the bout’s promoter would lead to further announcements, perhaps as soon as Monday.
The bout was previously pegged for the Las Vegas Raiders’ home, Allegiant Stadium, and if an arrangement can be made to shift a UNLV football game out of the stadium on September 13, then Alvarez-Crawford will go there, two industry officials told Boxing Scene.
The officials are unauthorized to speak publicly on the matter because of the sensitivity of ongoing negotiations.
By realigning with White and WWE President Khan, Alalshikh leans into Khan’s existing WWE relationship with Netflix.
Three industry officials confirmed White’s re-involvement immediately triggered the Netflix option after both were deemed in play as the bout first became finalized.
Alalshikh later changed his tune, suggesting the Saudi Arabia company Sela would promote the fight, but that company is not licensed to promote fights in the U.S., and Alvarez made it clear after a disappointing, lightly attended May 3 bout in Saudi Arabia that he wants to fight Crawford in Las Vegas.
Scorched by criticism over taking Alvarez to Saudi Arabia on Cinco de Mayo and squeezing a May 2 card that included Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez onto a chain-link-fenced section of Times Square that accommodated only 300 fans, Alalshikh now can respond forcefully by bringing this showdown to an NFL stadium and easily accessible on the wildly popular streaming platform.
“You’ve got Canelo, Terence, Dana, Nick Khan and Turki,” said an industry expert. “To do this fight right, it must be on Netflix.”

CANELO ALVAREZ VS. TERENCE CRAWFORD LANDS ON NETFLIX, LAS VEGAS TO HOST SUPERFIGHT
The Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford superfight for the undisputed and Ring Magazine super middleweight championship will take place Sept. 13 in Las Vegas and will streamed globally on Netflix at no additional cost to its 300 million-plus subscribers, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh announced Tuesday.
Alvarez, boxing’s top star, will defend his 168-pound crown against Crawford, a fellow future Hall of Famer who will climb two weight classes for the biggest challenge of his career.
“On Sept. 13, Canelo and Crawford, two legends of boxing, will finally compete against each other in the fight of the century,” Alalshikh said. “Alongside Dana White and Sela, we will deliver something truly incredible in Las Vegas for fans around the world to enjoy through Netflix.”
The three-city press tour for the Riyadh Season event will kick off Friday, June 20 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at Blvd City. That’s the site where Canelo and Crawford first faced off last month following Alvarez’s decision win over William Scull as Crawford watched from ringside.
The press tour will continue two days later on June 22 in New York at Fanatics Fest, where some of the biggest stars in sports will be joined by throngs of fans.
The press tour will wrap up on Friday, June 27 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The Riyadh Season event will be promoted by Alalshikh and Sela alongside UFC president Dana White.
“Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley,” said White. “Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once in a lifetime fight. Live on Saturday, Sept. 13, streaming globally on Netflix, two of the greatest boxers in the sport will meet in a historic fight from Las Vegas.”
Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) is The Ring’s No. 8 pound-for-pound boxer and owns the Ring Magazine championship at 168 pounds. This will be the Mexican icon’s 10th defense of his Ring Magazine super middleweight championship.
“I’m super happy to be making history again and this time on a Riyadh Season Card that will be broadcast on Netflix,” said Alvarez, 34. “On Sept. 13, I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
Crawford, The Ring’s No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer, is currently The Ring’s No. 1 boxer at 154 pounds. The 37-year-old will move up two weight classes to challenge Alvarez. In his lone fight at 154 pounds, Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) defeated Israil Madrimov in August on a Riyadh Season Card to win the WBO junior middleweight title.
“My perfect record speaks for itself. I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top,” Crawford said. “On Sept. 13, my hand will be raised once again as the world watches greatness.”
