Is the plan for this to be a co-main event with Fury v AJ at Wembley?

Have we actually been told what Dubois mystery illness is, yet?

I skip through Froch on Fighting as it's fluff for the casuals, especially now Froch has been bought by the Saudis, but I noticed in the comments some nasty rumours that Dubois didn't fight because of a failed test and now potentially might be serving some kind of ban.

Don't know if there is any truth to it?

Would it suprise you , , would'nt me , would'nt suprise me if uncle Frwank got a bit worried at the last minuite about Parker either , whichever , whatever , the last minuite pullout , the mystery illness , the lack of explanation , all points to one thing King Tut Tut , had his skirt lifted and his arse smacked good and proper .. probably why he's gone with Dana and ditched the others .

This is my theory:-

Daniel and his father didn't think he was 100% and sought medical advice locally.

Local doctor gives him an anti-histamine that Daniel takes.

Anti-histamine is subsequently checked by somebody else in the team who highlights the fact it's on the banned list.

Panic sets in.

FW tries to square it with the board and VADA.

VADA say that Daniel will fail a post fight test (but accept he's made the mistake innocently).

More panic.

The team pull him and get him out of Dodge so as not to fail the test.

I like that theory… but I have a simpler one…

-Turki said he wants DDD vs Usyk next for undisputed.
-DDD relised there was 5x the money in that fight.
-Ddd decided not to risk it and found a reason to pull out. (Weather there was a minor illness or not who knows)…

Hopfuly public pressure results in Parker getting the Usyk fight next so this pulpit isn’t rewarded…

Yes, it is, and probably as fanciful as all the other chitter chatter doing the rounds.

I just don't believe for a second that Dubois bottled the fight. Look at the AJ build up, he's the coolest cat in the room, just a young lad wanting to fight.

I also don't think he and his team would screw up with PEDS in the literal sense.

I think anybody is capable of making a blunder with something as innocuous as an anti histamine that may be on the banned list but you could get from a chemist.

Whilst boxing politics could cause a last minute pull out, in favour of another fight down the road, I just can't see it on this occasion.

So....I have pieced together what we have been told from those closest to the action and have decided that I believe the official story (with the possible accidental use of antihistamines that shouldn't have been used, only because FW mentioned them and VADA in the same few sentences).

Basically, nothing to see of any importance.

Dubois is a great fighter to watch, we should get behind him.

What I am basically saying is that I believe Frank's explanation but I'm caveating that with the possibility that Dubois (in an unthinking moment) may have taken a dose before he'd checked the banned list Nothing I'd class as dodgy.

At the time of DD pulling out and Parker fighting Bakole - they revealed the cause to be a virus .
Its only my anecdotal opinion but generally whenever there is a virus " going around " in a group of people it spreads like mad .
I dont recall anyone else like TV people or interviewers / camp members etc coming down with the same virus .........

DANIEL DUBOIS TARGETING WEMBLEY SUMMER SHOWDOWN WITH OLEKSANDR USYK, PARKER AND CHISORA BACK-UP OPTIONS

World heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois is preparing for a blockbuster undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk this summer and has earmarked a July date at Wembley Stadium.

Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) hasn't been in action since his fifth-round knockout win over Anthony Joshua last September but was scheduled to return in February against Joseph Parker in a defence of his IBF title.

The Londoner had to be pulled from the bout on fight week after being struck down by a viral infection and has spent the last month recovering from an issue with his glands.

Now, in an interview with The Ring, Dubois has stated that he's ready for a summer return against WBC, WBA, WBO and Ring titleholder Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) to unify all the belts.

The Ukrainian's manager Alex Krassyuk has already confirmed that his team are working to make the Dubois rematch a reality, and 'Dynamite' is on the same page, with negotiations now firmly underway.

"Definitely July, a big fight in July against Usyk. That's what I want," Dubois told The Ring.

"There's talks, negotiations happening behind the scenes, the two teams are going back and forth.

"I'm just doing my job as a fighter and staying ready and getting prepared for when I get a call on whoever is next, I'm ready to unleash hell.

"The Usyk fight [at Wembley] would be like the AJ fight but way bigger, the biggest fight in the world. That's the fight that really excites me and there's revenge there as well.

"The Usyk fight for undisputed would create history, that would be a massive historic event. Just like the AJ fight, the build-up at Leicester Square, it would just be amazing to be a part of that sort of fight.

"I'll be the man to stop him, I just see it. I'll be the first man to beat him. Fight news is coming soon."

Dubois and Usyk have history as the pair clashed in August 2023, with the latter coming out on top after stopping the Brit in the ninth round.

The fight wasn't without its controversy as in the fifth round, Dubois landed a shot on Usyk's belt-line which referee Luis Pabon ruled to be low.

Usyk took close to four minutes to recover from the shot but got up to drop Dubois in the eighth before finishing the fight a round later.

Dubois hasn't ruled out the possibility of facing Parker or Derek Chisora next, however.

Chisora is ranked No. 2 with the IBF and on April 22, The Ring have confirmed, will be named Dubois' mandatory challenger.

The IBF will grant an exception for Dubois to fight Usyk in a unification bout but if he doesn't, Chisora, who is set to retire after his 50th and final fight, will be next.

Dubois said: "I'm not really interested [in the Chisora fight] like that, but sure, why not? You know, I'm more up for Parker, Usyk and AJ, those guys, the top names. But I guess take him on as a comeback fight or something.

"[The Parker fight] is unfinished business. I'd have to do that and get that out of the way to shut some people up. But if a bigger shot against Usyk comes first, then I'll do that."

Who could Usyk fight who isn't British that would pay him what he has grown accustomed to being paid?

He strikes me as an intelligent man, why would he continue to box into middle age if not for mega paydays?

It's why I still think he may call it a day.
