I spoke to Mick last Autumn at the hotel before the Simpson-Chelli card in Barnsley and he said was only managing now, not promoting. Didn't seem bitter just very matter of fact. Was really nice chap.

He deserved dropping. Some of Froch’s world title fights when he was in his prime were on the most obscure channels, a guy of his calibre deserved much better and fortunately along came Eddie

Mick had a run with every major tv network going and produced great fights for them, he must really upset them in different ways.

me too mate, he was not bitter at all when I was lucky enough to speak to him, his daughter was lovely too, spent time talking boxing with my teenage daughter. He has raised a very good person too which is testament to him

Nah he defended against Taylor and was still with Mick and I’m pretty sure he wasn’t with Eddie when he fought Kessler, 100% he was with Mick when he defended against Dirrell anyway. I think it was maybe around the Abraham fight when he moved to Matchroom. Either just before or just after.

As ruthy says Hearn signed Barker, Froch and Brook pretty much in one go and it was a big sign of intent going forwards.
