I posted this tongue in cheek. Fury's CV could and should have been much better but crap is a but strong. The Wlad and Wilder 2 wins were great nights and even Usyk 1 was a fight to remember. Del 1 was a very good win at the time.Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025, 18:22Not sure about that. Chisora hasn't beat anybody worth talking about since then, don't you think?
Wallin got spanked by AJ and didn't come to win against Chisora IMO
Joyce got spanked twice by 40 odd year old Zhang who has been beaten twice since.
Gerald Washington is a 40 year old football player who was coming off multiple losses
As good as he could potentially have been at one point, Fury's resume is crap and will go down in history as being crap. He can't do anything about that now but he is very wealthy.

Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
Ok Mabey not always… but let’s go with last 10 years excluding vs fury and Usyk… he has been pretty good and/or dangerouse
- knocked down wallin multiple times and won.
-knocked down Joyce and won.
- first fight vs Parker knocked him down (and according to many (not me)should have won)
-knocked down and stopped takem.
-consistantly Able to go 12 horrible rounds even if he looks fucked.
These are achievements that I think get you into the “dangerouse” category.
Especially for a guy who:
- was getting hit wayyy too much vs hrg.
-Got hurt and dropped 3 times vs lenera
-has never gone 12 rounds…
(Once again DDD is obviously a favorite, but chis is somehow a live dog with some danger).
Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
I agree. Chisora is getting this fight because they don't want Daniel fighting Ajagba or Bakole (after already having second thoughts on Parker)Jimmy2025 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025, 18:22Not sure about that. Chisora hasn't beat anybody worth talking about since then, don't you think?

It's a pattern with Chisora. Chisora was facing retirement when they robbed Pulev in a farewell fight. "Unfortunately," this made Chisora a viable candidate for Fury. Note, Fury approached Chisora long before the carry on with Joshua, before circling back to Fury v Chisora III. They have now rebuilt Chisora again with three testimonial fights, that looked suspiciously fake (what pro-wrestling would call a work) and somehow installed him as IBF mandatory for young Daniel.
I wonder how many tickets they can sell to the rubes for this one
Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
It's easy to talk up DelBoy because of his incredible record, but he's 41 and declining on a fight by fight basis.
He was able to do a bit of a B-Hop - old man masterclass fiddle - against Wallin and that was bloody impressive. So maybe he could just about have one last hurrah and B-Hop a decision again, but..,
Let's be real, he should be fighting Fisher, Whyte, even Wardley, but not a young streaking DDD.

I think everyone on here will.

I am definitely one of the rubes. Maybe more so, for pointing it out!
But there is a limit to which fights I will accept, even for entertainment purposes. I still naively hold out hope that boxing as a sport can be redeemed

It will sell , no doubt about that , Lots will go see it live , and lots will buy it , personaly , I WILL NOT BUY IT , doubt i'll even get up early to watch it, ,its not that i dislike any of them , Chisora is Chisors , he's the old war horse they keep dragging out and can rely on to do excatly what he's supposed to do , win the ones he's supposed too and lose the ones he's supposed to.
DD well heres the young buck , they let him have his head and he had a good run , , now its all back to normal , , mysterious illness , pull outs at the last minuite , finished old fighters being elevated to mandatory positions , Theres a reason why Fwank is and has been for years a top promoter ,
If DD WAS A hEARN FIGHTER AND ALL THIS BOLLOCKS WAS GOING ON , eDDIE WOULD OF BEEN CRUSIFIED

Like you, I won't pay for this dross. And yeah, the media really let Frank get away with too much
Anyway, here's my prediction for this fight. It will be another work. Chisora will huff and puff for a few rounds, then young Daniel will carry him at least beyond round 5.
Maybe they give him a magical send off by letting him see the final bell. I'd be truly shocked if they actually let Daniel go at him from round 1

Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
When was the last time a heavyweight mandatory had 13 losses or was 4-4 in his last 8 fights?
Hope Chisora tests positive or something so the event falls flat on its face and the promoters lose money while the IBF are made to look like fools

Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
Derek Chisora believes a fight against Daniel Dubois does 'good business' at Wembley Stadium
Although Derek Chisora isn’t necessarily saying he is better than Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker, two heavyweights who have beaten him, he does have every reason to believe he is more popular than them, at least in the UK.
It is because of this belief that he maintains that Daniel Dubois’ next opponent should be him, Chisora, rather than the two men who have previously defeated him. According to Chisora, in fact, it is only by choosing him over Usyk and Parker that Dubois, the IBF heavyweight champion, stands a chance of selling out venues such as Wembley Stadium and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“I want my world title shot with Daniel at Wembley,” Chisora told Gareth A. Davies and Spencer Oliver on talkSPORT’s Fight Night show. “We can sell out Wembley.
“I know Daniel pulled out of the fight with Joseph Parker [in February], but he’s learning. He’s a good fighter learning his craft right now. People should give him some slack. He will defend his title against me because I know Joseph Parker wants to fight for the WBO [title] with Oleksandr Usyk.
“Listen, I want that fight. We want good fights and we want good business. If I know good business, it’s me and Daniel. Usyk and Daniel Dubois will not sell out Tottenham or Wembley. I know that for a fact.”
Much of Chisora’s belief stems from knowing that in recent years he has become quite the cult hero in British boxing. Whether in victory or defeat, he has always left a piece of himself in the ring and this sacrifice rarely goes unnoticed. Indeed, it is why British fans have long shown their appreciation for Chisora, both vocally on fight night and with their eagerness to purchase tickets to watch him live.
Whether that’s enough to warrant Chisora, now 36-13 (23), getting a shot at Dubois in his next and presumably final fight is another matter. But certainly, in a sport concerned as much with entertainment as what is fair and right, Chisora’s argument is a strong, persuasive one. Dubois, after all, is not yet at the stage where either his reputation or personality lends itself to selling out football stadium shows on his name alone.

Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
It will obviously do big business because British people, by and large, are complete morons. The care home Derek ends up in when Dubois punches his head in will do good business too and I suppose Derek might be the richest man there for a while.

pULLS OUT WITH MYSTERY ILLNESS , calls out the same fighters he pulled out and got beat by , Whilst all along his promoter is arranging him to fight an old Chisora ,
Fwank Warren , and British boxing at its best
Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
Absolutely no mention of Kabayel, the opponent he should be facing. Funny that
Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Derek Chisora - IBF Mandatory
This is a weird one alright.
Calls out Uysk in the ring while contracted to fight Parker
Pulls out of Parker fight last minute then goes into personal media blackout
Meantime Parker fights a late replacement
Then it's looking like Dubois is fighting Uysk instead of Parker
Now the word is Chisora's last fight is for Doobie's title
And finally Dubios breaks media silence calling out all and sundry like even he doesn't know what's happening.

Look at his face. He’s clearly reading what someone’s written for him.

I wouldn't call Chisora a journeyman, but he is a gatekeeper and always has been.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025, 14:58 Has Chisora ever had a genuine world class win? He’s basically a journeyman / gatekeeper, albeit an extremey well paid one.
He's a great yardstick for fighters to test whether they're ready for the big time.
