I'm underwhelmed by Zayas. He's obviously very good, but I never get this excitement of "Oh he's fighting I have to see it" with him. I don't know, he's not a particularly huge puncher, maybe that's why. As I said he is clearly very good, maybe he'll even be great by the end. He's a very "all around" sort of fighter.

It would help if he fought... someone.
He's very talented, but still an up-and-comer who hasn't faced any real competition yet and essentially had this belt handed to him.

Let's see who he fights next.
The next highest ranked boxer is Josh Kelly.. Not much better to be honest.

If there wasn't a title on the line then you'd just describe it as a good learning fight for Zayas, I thought he boxed well though against a tall, strong , aggressive fighter like Garcia, he's a clever young boxer Zayas, does the basics very well, he great footwork, knows when to stick or twist, Garcia threw a lot of shots but Zayas didn't take much clean and caught him with some classy shots, Garcia had a good spell in the later rounds but Zayas finished last couple in total control, 22 years old Zayas and now a world champ, regardless of Garcia's level hopefully the belt will get Zayas some big fights

Game as they come Garcia but severely lacking in footwork and fundamentals to be fighting for a world title, Zayas boxed well & kept his discipline, didn’t get sucked into a brawl & used his straight shots effectively. Easy to forget Zayas is only 22 having started as a pro so young, let’s hope for some bigger fights soon.
