Ike will kill Danny.
I saw some terribly shot footage of him sparring what looked like a middleweight, he was every bit as awful as you would expect an inactive 50+ fighter to be. He might still have some power but that is all.

i musta seen that like 100 times by now.....at least oner was brazen enough for everyone to see how corrupt he was. his explanation was that he rang the bell to stop the fight and call it a win for williams. sure, where were you after the bell rang then
multiple refs on shows he promoted were absolutely massive homer refs too. i dont mean your standard ref that gives the home fighter the benefit of the doubt, but utterly egregious cheerleaders as bad as the ottke-reid ref. another case was when a ref tried to disqualify dennis baktov for beating up oner fighter steffan kretchman. kretchman put his hands down, shook his head, and said no mas. baktov, still in fight mode, smacked him, and the ref tried to say that was illegal since kretch hadnt been defending himself.
i remember graham houston going absolutely nuts on twitter (or was it here?) when it looked like the dq was going to happen, saying it would be the most absurd thing he ever saw in boxing. but it was so crazy that when the ref went to tell the ringside supervisors it was a dq, they stared at him blankly, and after talking with them and jeering from the crowd he eventually changed course
can only think of all the shady things oner and others like him have pulled close doors.
bak-kretch: it took like 15 mins after this to finally announce bahktov the winner, as ref originally wanted to dq him for that.

Danny has already been KOd in one of his many losses by a 55 year old (look it up)

this is awful. Hopefully it does not happen. Ike would likely batter Danny. Some of the posts about Danny needing to pay for his children's nursing home fees are chuffin hilarious though!

Ike Ibeabuchi and Danny Williams set to battle on August 23 in Nigeria.
Prizefighting TV, an emerging streaming service, appears to intend to stream the event on their site (www.prizefighting.tv) for a fee of $29.99 to viewers. As per the marketing visuals of that site, the match will be authorized by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control, a regulatory body created in 1947
I mean they both 52.

When contacted by World Boxing News, Williams offered a short but telling reply, “Really, really sorry for the late reply! I have no comments regarding the fight. Sorry! Take care.”
could be scam.. get people to buy the PPV early..

Danny Williams is out of this - maybe he was never actually in - and Ibeabuchi will instead face fellow Nigerian Idris Afinni. I've never heard of him but he has mostly fought at Cruiserweight, is 40 years old and has a fairly middling record.

EDIT: He just wants me to send over my bank details.

At some point, somewhere in the distant past, this could have been a decent fight. Not back in the 90’s of course when Ike was still active, that guy was a monster.
Some time after that maybe 5-10 years later, if Ike had managed to get free and fit to fight again.
This proposed match up now is just all round unfortunate.

Ike will be facing 40-year-old Idris Afinni (18-8-2, 15 KO) at Teslim Balogun Stadium.

It looks like Danny Williams has been replaced with the guy named Adris Afinni, or Idris Afinni, whoever that is.
Would be crazy if this fight actually came off, but something tells me it won't. But, the website prizefighting.tv might be a good idea, it's always good to have competition for boxing on TV, whether it be free or pay.
