Bloody hell, that's terrible. It's not even like he was from the era of 100 fights. I think he had less than 50.

Sad to hear. The area where he lived is lovely & he couldn't even enjoy it in his later years. Just a prisoner in his own head.

Extensive amateur career too

That was my initial thought. Fought at a high level at a young age. His whole life was boxing from when he turned teen. And I'm sure there were lots of tasty sparring sessions in those East End gyms back in the late 70s early 80s.

His early death is sad but him having dementia is another blow.

I'd been told that boxing hadn't left him in a great way before lockdown, probably 7 or 8 years ago.

RIP. Grew up watching his fights.

Good fighter with bottle to burn.

His last fight was against James Cook, one of the best humans in the sport who we also lost this year. Met him at the Barnsley event last year for the Simpson fight I think he was helping Tunde, was a gent.
