Amateur shows can be padded out with no decision skills bouts.

BOXCUPS are becoming the norm so the chances of building a local following are reduced.

When Ossie Duran stopped Jamie Moore - arguably down to a hip injury but classed as a KO - he had to move to the states to get regular work.

I used to go to the local cards at The Mansfield Tavern when I lived in Brisbane and have also been to small hall shows in Sydney & Melbourne.

Plenty of well-matched fights and no shortage of 'opponents' who fought back.
