As hard-core as any of them was Cornelius Boza Edwards going over to the USA and beating the world champion Rafael bazooka Limon, think it was the fight of the year as well. He then defended it and beat the great Bobby Chacon in Las Vegas.
A few years later, when he was considered washed up, they brought him back to the US as a stepping stone for their rising star, John the heat Verderosa, who was unbeaten and had been flattening everyone. Boza upset the odds again and annihilated him.

May well be my favourite, went a bit under the radar at the time, Taylor was a top fighter

Denis Andries going to Australia to win back his WBC light-heavyweight title from Jeff Harding by seventh-round stoppage.
It was Harding's first defeat and it would be another four years before he lost again.
Hugely underrated achievement by Andries.

Wasn't it something like 14 seconds remaining in the 12th & final round, Froch pouring it on and Taylor wilting by the second. It was a race against the clock and Froch captured victory from the jaws of defeat in stunning fashion
Yep, Andries' win in the 2nd fight with Harding was dramatic too. Dennis threw everything plus the kitchen sink at Jeff in that 7th until Harding could take no more !

I’d mention Paul Ingle getting off the floor to stop Junior Jones too. Jones was on the slide for sure but hadn’t forgotten how to punch.
Great night that was, with the brutality of Lewis v Grant in the main event.

A good one. Forgot about that. Tremendous performance by Dennis.
The Cat smashing Ralf Rocchigiani in Germany (but won by SD - was a clear shut out) was another quality 'away' win.

Eubank vs Rocchagiani in Berlin
Currie vs Evangelista in Bilbao
Honeyghan vs Rosi in Perugia
Ovill McKenzie getting a draw in Argentina and the performance of Murray against Martinez were excellent performances.

A lot of Lennox Lewis fights over looked
- Vitali
- Mike Tyson
- Rahman
- Ray Mercer
- Morrison
- Golota
- Holyfield
- Tua
I mean Lennox was favourite in those fights I think but he has a lot of overseas wins of note

Whilst a great win, for me defending a belt against a past his prime ex champion isn’t up there amongst the better ones.

My wife. Honeymoon. Almeria. Away fighter, no home support. April 2019. Assaulted by two Spanish women in a bar. Right and left and good night.
No belts on the line but I bought her a lovely fake Gucci belt at the market the day after. Lineal Yorkshire Bird title holder. Never defended, still emeritus champion in 2026.

Khan v Maidana is a bloody good shout. And a better win than Brook over Porter IMO.
