Mark Tibbs really did talk up Visioli in the highest terms. No doubt he shows promise, but, yes I agree Deserter, there's a long way to go yet and there were certainly hints of limitations in the fight against Levi Giles.
In British prospect terms, I'd say George Liddard looks more likely to go further but I'll concede the Tibbs family may know a bit more about boxing than I do so will keep the faith for now.
The curator, Clive, did talk a bit Frostieballs! There was also the producer of Fighters at the front and so the four of them had a good chat before the Q and A. The whole thing started at 6pm and finished at 8.15pm and it zipped by.
On the strength of this season I watched The Boxer and 24/7 again but neither were as good as I remembered. Fighters surpassed my memory not only in the boxing but also the sound and the way it was filmed. Genius really.
Only thing that could have improved this season in my opinion would have been Paul Sykes At Large

I’m going to watch Fighters over the weekend.
I really enjoyed TwentyFourSeven. It was better than I remembered.
But it’s not just a boxing film. I’m a massive softie these days and love anything with that Shane Meadows, human story/connection, feel. Had to hold back a couple of tears - seeing it in black and white on the big screen seemed to increase the film’s inpact.

I'd be interested what you think. I really think it captures the essence of boxing perfectly.
I'm not sure about 24/7 because of the fight night at the end. It all felt a bit silly when the bloke from Coronation St ruined it all and then got filled in by Bob Hoskins. Before that, there was lots to enjoy though. Meadows is making a film about Skegness now which should be fun.

Yes, things about the fight night were daft. But I think Darcy doing that was quite poignant.
He’d spent the whole film telling the lads to exercise control. In the end life is just so tough, that even he even he couldn’t rise above it when faced with its horrific nature.
