Re: Favourite ring announcer
That clip of John McDonald losing it after Eric Odumasi's flamboyant antics was hilarious

The pre-1990's British MCs were great. Always starting the introductions with "My Lords, Ladies and gentlemen...."

Yeh I always liked the simple to the point announcers, before all buffers Hollywood schmaltz brought about chancers like diamonte, who’s possibly the worst of all time. Chuck Hull excellent, as is Lennon senior and junior

Actually it's about the only thing I like about him!
In fact that's too harsh, he does a solid job, bit of an odd character though.
He said he copied the saying it twice off the old timers, often there wasn't a microphone or the sound was weak, and it was repeated twice so folk at the back of the hall would get it.

I get that we needed that once upon a time, but it’s surely not something anyone would say they ‘missed’?Coco wrote: ↑19 Mar 2026, 07:17Actually it's about the only thing I like about him!

Very odd character. Someone on here didn’t like him once and said he faked his motorcycle accident!
