He's said he thought it was all cleared but they wouldn't allow it. Seems weird unless he's got a criminal record, got tied to certain people or certain countries or perhaps been posting anti trump memes on social media. He still doesn't explain what went on. I suspect he or his team messed up otherwise he would provide more details as to why the visa was rejected. Why did he go to the embassy a few days before leaving if everything was correct? What documents did he provide them with to show he should be able to go despite this reason? Why did they say it wasn't enough for him to get in?

He doesn't really need to explain it to us. It would be nice if he did, cus we as fans would have wanted him to fight.joshj909 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2026, 06:57 He still doesn't explain what went on. He said it's out of his hands, but surely, there must be a reason it was declined,

Welsh boxer Joe Cordina has been charged for his role in an alleged assault outside a Cardiff petrol station.
The 34-year-old is due to appear in court early next month following the incident, which happened back in February.
A video was shared widely online at the time, appearing to show an altercation outside a petrol station in Cardiff, which involved shouting and one man falling to the floor.
Cordina has also been charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon.
In a statement, a spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Two men have been charged in connection with an incident outside Pentwyn Service Station, Pentwyn Road, Cardiff, on February 27, 2026.
"Joseph Cordina, 34, from Pontprennau, has been charged with assault and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place. He is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on July 7.
"Jamie O’Brien, 32, from Pentwyn, has been charged with assault and is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on July 28."

So he has an ongoing case and he thought they'd let him into the States?
Re: Abdullah Mason vs. Joe Cordina | DAZN - 4 July 2026 (OFF)
What a silly boy.
Getting into a street brawl when you're a professional boxer about to get his last World title shot.
Of course, he's still ranked top contender & if he gets off, or a slap on the wrist, he can still fight the winner of Mason Bell.
Unless Bell wins as then there'll be a rematch of that fight.

Joe doesn’t come across as being a bully or a trouble maker or the kind of kid who gets himself involved in altercations in broad daylight. Boxers regularly have to contend with street scum trying to get a rise out of them and it’s clear from the footage that Joe showed some restraint - I imagine the fat loser had provoked him in some way that justified Joe’s engaging with him.Taansend wrote: ↑25 Jun 2026, 10:28 What a silly boy.

Re: Abdullah Mason vs. Joe Cordina | DAZN - 4 July 2026 (OFF)
Joe Cordina unlikely to get another opportunity to fight Abdullah Mason, says promoter
Joe Cordina’s fight with Abdullah Mason last week has likely passed the Welshman by for good after the Welshman was denied a visa by the US Embassy.
Cordina was due to face Mason next Saturday, but he’s been charged with assault after an alleged incident occurred in February at a gas station in Wales.
When Cordina went to the embassy to get his documentation to travel, he was not permitted to go.
“There was an incident recently, I think it’s been quite well documented now,” said Cordina’s promoter Eddie Hearn. “It was never good timing but bad timing especially when you’re obviously applying for a US visa. So that visa was denied and that means that he can’t fight Abdullah Mason on July the 4th which is a big blow but Joe would have to deal with that situation, clear it all up and then we’ll reschedule a fight.
“[He] probably will have missed the opportunity to fight Abdullah Mason but Joe’s a good fighter and a big name and once he resolves that situation, we’ll work with him to get him in another big fight.”
It's likely the British Boxing Board of Control will also need a legal resolution before deciding whether Cordina can continue his career in the UK.
“Joe's adamant of his innocence in the whole situation but that will play out,” said Hearn.
It has caused the bill next week in Norfolk to be rejigged and Albert Bell has been moved from his July 18 date with Andy Cruz on a Matchroom show and into the July 4 Top Rank main event against Mason.
Where does that leave Cruz, who is promoted by Hearn?
“We’re still talking through that at the moment and it’s a tough one because obviously that’s a final eliminator but Bell’s got an opportunity of a lifetime to step up and we’re trying to resolve everything at the moment with Top Rank and DAZN, but it’s likely it sounds that Albert Bell will fight Abdullah Mason and will replace him with an opponent for Andy Cruz.”
Everything has been made easier when things like that happen, now Matchroom and Top Rank share a platform, in DAZN, who also have Golden Boy, Queensberry and Boxxer in their stable.
“If they [Top Rank] hadn’t moved to DAZN we would never have got the [Boots Ennis-Xander] Zayas fight because they’d never put an ESPN fighter in with a DAZN fighter, especially one who’s an underdog in the fight, so that’s been really good. We did [Raymond] Ford-[O’Shaquie] Foster recently, we did Cruz against [Raymond] Muratalla, Shakur [Stevenson] against Teo [Lopez] at the time kind of Matchroom-Top Rank – we’ll take the win on that one – and so this one as well and there’s loads of other fights that we’re talking about so that doesn't just count for Top Rank that counts for Queensberry that counts for Golden Boy and everybody else. There’s good vibes at the moment for people working together.”

I just saw the video and looks like it was setup, why was someone videoing some random bloke from a distance away, standing on the pavement who then seems to wait for Cordina to leave a shop and then shoulder barge him, very odd.

Looks real to me. Prior to the vid starting were words exchanged as a successful young man pulls into petrol station in a nice car ? Maybe the fat pedestrian didn’t give way to Joe or vice versa ? Threw a pie at his car in anger / jealousy perhaps ?Controversial wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 09:22 I just saw the video and looks like it was setup, why was someone videoing some random bloke from a distance away, standing on the pavement who then seems to wait for Cordina to leave a shop and then shoulder barge him, very odd.

I didn’t mean it wasn’t real I mean it looked like someone was filming it for a reason so not a random incident. I never saw anything to do with a car just the part as he walked across a road and punched himCaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026, 10:02Looks real to me. great restraint crossing the street to punch someone and then getting his big title fight cancelled + pay day lost + criminally charged over hurt feelings? that is the total opposite of being able to control yourself for the sake of the bigger pictureCaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑25 Jun 2026, 21:08Joe doesn’t come across as being a bully or a trouble maker or the kind of kid who gets himself involved in altercations in broad daylight.
