Also I like how they've announced "multi fight" deal and then you read the details and it's one agreed event (Simpson) and then the theoretical promise of "a major ppv" in the future.

Which of their global superstars will this "major ppv" feature?

Based on recent crowd attendances, they've hardly got anyone who can sell a ticket. Simpson and Price are the only two.

Simpson isn't ppv. Is Price the promised "major ppv star"? Are people going to pay hard money to watch Lauren Price Vs, idk, Mayer?

Eubank Jr could also maybe be the mystery ppv but he is showing all signs of dropping the boxxer "partnership" ,having recently publicly declared himself a free agent.

So again it seems there is another announcement which on further examination offers little substance.

Surely it’s on DAZN over BBC cus to money as well.

What would be the business case for signing with boxxer on DAZN vs signing with MR or QB?

Not only are they not in the same league financially,you can't point to any fighter - eh,maybe CBS? - they've done a stellar job with.

Whereas you can point to a load of disasters

So if you're going to box on DAZN, why would you not go with one of the bigger, better DAZN promotions?

I wasn't really referring to just that one point.....

But on that note, yes they probably would not be first choice for elite fighters.

They may be an option for those further down the pecking order, however, who might feel they will get more personalised attention from Boxxer. Or who might not even be offered a contract with the others.

In time maybe Boxxer will move up the ranks and begin to rival the others.

There is also the possibility that they pull out all the stops and give all the money to 1 or 2 big names.

But you'd need money in the first place, to throw at big names

If you're running a lower tier promotion as you've described -"lower down the pecking order" - nobody is paying you big money for that.

So then you're in a sort of death spiral. Or at least, small hall spiral.

What you're describing is essentially something like GBM or Nielson model

What you're seeing is death throes, not swinging. They're completely finished as any sort of top tier promotion.

So what they've done is spun up a single-event deal into a multi fight, tied it to the Simpson-Troy rematch presser so it looks like some sort of launch presser for "a DAZN deal"

And all the YouTubers and online fans are just lapping it up unquestioningly

The BBC deal was four fights. A fifth was tacked on to make up for Azim pulling out in October.

Boxxer have continually implied that the deal was not a four fight deal and that it is some sort of long term multi event contract

So why then is the rematch of the BBC fight not going on the BBC? That makes no logical sense, if you've got a rolling agreement.

It does make sense if you don't have a rolling agreement and in fact your four+1 deal is over, and BBC didn't want to buy this one (whether for financial or value or world cup reasons)

But again nobody seems to have thought this through.

Not sure why you’re expecting any sort of critical thinking there They just want anything which could potentially get clicks, regardless of anything else. In a few months they’ll all be posting things like “Shalom SLAMS DAZN after multi-fight deal collapses after just ONE event!!!”. And Ruthless will copy & paste every single article about it on here
