Russia wants the world to think is a big bad guy, in reality it has the DGP of Italy and is getting it's ass kicked off Ukraine.John wrote: ↑10 Sep 2026, 08:07 Without national security there is no social security. The world is returning to it's default position of might is right. We need to build up our military quickly ready for the coming storms. The European Empire is starting to crack at the seams. The Russians will exploit it and pour petrol on the flames. The Russians have clearly stated over and over either they will be a major power or they will die trying. Putin wants to re-establish the pre 1989 borders, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Roumania, Serbia, Croati, Bosnia ......
Trump is keen on American hegemony over the New World, has his eye on Greenland, Canada, Venezuela ....
China will retake Taiwan and continue expanding into the South China Sea.
The US has stopped new funding for Ukraine as far as I'm aware. Europe is still helping though. At the same time, it is in Europe's interests to support Ukraine. Plus Ukraine has shown itself to be a lot more capable than anyone gave them credit for and they are now the best in Europe at drone warfare. They have taken the fight to Russia in a big way and still are.John wrote: ↑10 Sep 2026, 10:07 The Russians have a massive amount of armaments in reserve and their production is ramping up. The Ukrainians rely on being supplied by us, the Europeans and the USA. If the supply stops it is all over for Ukraine, the latest news isn't good, the Russians are producing more and more rockets. We need to spend a lot more on defence for the Ukrainians to have a chance of surviving let alone winning.
Military procurement should be done by the military and not politicians, the Navy has wanted CATOBAR carriers for years. If we had Ark Royal with its Buccaneers and Phantoms during the Falklands we'd have pissed it.TheRiverCityHippy wrote: ↑10 Sep 2026, 07:06 He's spot on, national security shouldnt come at the expense of social security, get the rich to pay for it not the poor, besides it would help if the MOD stopped wasting money hand over fist, we have blown 6 billion on an armoured personnel carrier thats more of a danger to the people riding in it than the people facing it in battle and dont even get me started on those 2 aircraft carriers, meant to cost 2 billion ended up costing 7.6 billion and the pair of them are heaps of shyte.
They werent even fitted with catapults so we had to buy the VTOL version of the F35 which is comfortably the worst variant of the F35 so there's more dough down the drain. All these people calling for more money to be spent on defence i'd fvck them right off, we've got better things to waste billions on. Until they prove they can spend it wisely i wouldnt give them another penny.
I heard recently that 30-40% of American Jews are of this thought.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑09 Sep 2026, 09:18 You do know a lot of Jewish people also don’t stand with what Israel are doing?
Nah no way there's that many, every community has a few cucks and uncle toms, but Jews are quite used to persecution and the most extreme violence committed against them, but for the most part they're no mugs that side with the enemy, either.evrenb wrote: ↑10 Sep 2026, 13:36I heard recently that 30-40% of American Jews are of this thought.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑09 Sep 2026, 09:18 You do know a lot of Jewish people also don’t stand with what Israel are doing?
What has happened to the Palestinians over the years is appalling.

I think Labour would struggle to win a majority they'd more than likely have to twin up with the Libs. Conform haven't got a look in now though i don't think, grift afyer grift, crime after crime. Moderates will never vote for them.Coco wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 10:41Let's see what happens in Holborn!
Realistically how Burnham does in the next couple of years is make or break

I would agree if the sole purpose of the leadership in the Islamist West Bank and Gaza was anything other than the elimination of Israel and the Jews. Their charter is very clear…….hence no two state solution. It was offered a number of times.Lenny Cravats wrote: ↑08 Sep 2026, 07:15 I don't think we should trade with settlements on illegally occupied lands.
