The second fight was very close. I haven’t seen it recently or scored it myself, so I can’t offer a definitive opinion. Norton deserved the decision in the third fight, which was arguably a favorable decision for Ali. And Norton most certainly won the first fight by a clear margin.

The great Floyd Mayweather Jr said that Ken Norton beat Muhammad Ali 3 times. He said "Look at the fight tapes!"

He also says that Emanuel Augustus was his toughest fight and doesn't even so much as mention the name Jose Luis Castillo. He doesn't always keep it 100 as the kids say.

I always liked Muhammad Ali. He is the greatest heavyweight boxer of all-time in my book. Also he is a top 5 all-time pound per pound great boxer.

It is long time since i watched the trilogy, but i thought Norton won 1st and 3rd fight. But Ali looked good in all 3 fights IMO. Despite fact that Norton had very bad style for Ali, Ali handled it well. And IMO he was well past prime in 3rd match. Ali was able to handle all kind of styles and oponents. Norton was not. Just proof how great Ali was.

60s Ali would have handled Norton.

It took everything Norton had to beat a past-prime Ali.

It took everything Holmes had to beat a past-prime Norton.
