There should be 10 weight divisions.

50kg & under for the lightest
100kg & over for the heaviest

Eight in-between.

We're having average fighters being proclaimed as 2 or 3 weight World Champions nowadays. It's ridiculous. And that's by the time they're 25.

For a while it was like that. Now they're all 35 before they fight someone that might beat em.

That's why I'm so chuffed about the Pat Brown v John Hedges fight this weekend.

They don't NEED to fight each other but they are. I hope, like DeGale & Groves, they both go on to become World Champions.

Light Cruiserweight is a terrible, terrible idea. And the name doesn't even make sense - heavyweight is heavier than cruiserweight, but light-heavyweight will be lighter than light-cruiserweight.

We could just do with it what we did with Bridgerweight. Ignore it, and it will simply cease to be. Ideas have to be accepted by people for them to take hold. If everybody just kinda disregards something, it can't take hold.

Right! Boxing is confusing enough as it is without this nonsense!

I’m waiting til they do a weight class where you can only be called Sean, be over 40 and have no ability or heart, then it’s my time to shine….

I think I might rename light-cruiserweight as "quite-heavyweight".

114 lbs Minimumweight
120 lbs Flyweight
126 lbs Bantamweight
132 lbs Featherweight
140 lbs Lightweight
148 lbs Super lightweight
156 lbs Welterweight
165 lbs Middleweight
175 lbs Super Middleweight
185 lbs Light heavyweight
200 lbs Cruiserweight
200+ lbs Heavyweight

Same day weigh in: no more than +12 lbs for super lightweight and lower, no more than +15 lbs for welterweight and above.
One belt per class. Problem solved
Same day weigh ins above 8 Rounds are banned on medical advice so I wouldn't be comfortable with that as a Matchmaker as I would feel somewhat responsible if something happened still would now but minimising risk is fine with me.

Or not-quite-a-heavyweight!
