4 orgs x top ten names.
no bias
its your opinion and you can keep it but if you honestly belive 25 of that lot are world class then you are quite deluded.

i know you guys here hate facts, but if a boxer is under the top 15 in one of the 4 top sanctining bodies, he is world class. BTW i took the same measure for british and british signed boxers. so what do you want? you just have less. what´s the problem to say that i was right. we have the most world class boxers in Europe. everybody in the world would say that. maybe only Don King and Bob Arum have better boxers........J wrote:so when you say top 10 what you mean is top 40 in the world.BubiScholz wrote:i would say world class is top 15 WBO,WBA,WBC and IBF.

IM INTERESTED IN FACTS NOT BULLSHIT RANKINGS YOU ANNOYING SOD!
samuel kedebe was ranked one by the WBO dont make him world class does it. Otherwise why not go the whole hog and invirte the WBF, IBO, WBU WBF in as well. Jesus we all know rankings mean sweet fa most of the time.
You may well have more world class boxers thats not what im arguing . what I am arguing is that you talk a load of biased bollocks at times. Such as and I quote 30 of these boxers are world class.
world class what? chess players? cos 30 out of that lot sure aint world class boxers.
if you want have a chat about such matters thats fine but if you wish to use rankings as and when you feel the need then go talk to someone else.
World class means world class not cos some prick at a governing body has been lobbeyed by fair means or foul to put a fighter in his top ten.
the fact that no one else apart from you can even get half your magic figure should tell you something.
hoffman world class my arsole

so what is world class? the fightnews top 16, or boxrec top 15? sorry maybe i am the bigest asshole here but the only one who takes care about the only rankings we have in boxing. maybe it´s also subjective but it´s a world ranking.
anyway, i only wanted to show that here in Germany are the most world class boxers you can find in Europe. And no matter what "ranking" you will use. this will be a matter of fact. o.k. this fact is not liked here, so all rankings are doubted. funny.

World class for me, is some who has proven enough that he can realistically win a world title with one of the four major governing bodies. For me, the only other "world" class fighters (who might not be able to win the world title) are EBU champs - but they must be outstanding ones - for example, Thomas Ulrich has proven himself to be not world class with his struggle vs Matthew Barney. I'm not shown British bias as I would place Nicky Cook in a similar bracket currently.
It might go beyond the top ten in some weight devisions in some devision (like Heavy), in others it might be all of the top ten.

thats half the fun bubster in these discussions mate. I wasnt getting angry just animated mate! To be honest id rather you had said cos I think they are world top ten not cos you get the german fighters who are ranked by the governing bodies!!! (On the negative side you lost a bit of credibility there but on the postive i rate your opinion more than the giverning bodies, its a double edged sword
Some of those guys are definately world class and from middle to heavy germany undoubtedly has more world class boxers. Just not as many as you think bro. Thats ok, shit happens mate.
happy now?

no i am not happy. i am pissed. you could take every "ranking" from heavy to straw and there would be more german based than british based fighters on it. but believe me i wouldn´t have any problem if it would be the other way round. from the beginning of professional boxing up to the year 2000 Britain was of course ahead in Europe.J wrote:no its whom i deem in my opinion to be top ten. Anyway this is my last post for a while. I have to put in too much energy in order get recognised. It´s better to put that energy in other things.
Maybe there will be once a "German/European Scene"-Forum on here. I would even make a moderators job on there. If any of the editors are interested, don´t hesitate to PM me. This is of course a British forum and should be. I enjoyed posting there because there is no German/European forum and because the Current Scene has not such a high level. I want to thank J, knockout, jameswilson, Kilburn, Jamesmcdonnell, stujones, bennie and all the other great posters here. You know your boxing and I learned a lot of you guys.
It would be a pleasure to meet some guys of you in London or Manchester soon. Roll On June!!!!

dont be such an baby dude, no on was having a major go at you.
you seem to think this is about germany having more world ranked fighters, I dont care, what I do care about mate, is being told fighters such as hoffman are world class, sorry if you dont like that but I dont fornicating agree.
However thats ok, i disagree with james, ian, david, kil virtually everyone who has posted on here ive disagreed with or vice versa, dont understand where this hissy fit has come from.
you on a wind up?
On the subject of ITV, yes they are in trouble. But I think the same goes for all the terrestrial TV channels. Reality TV and Celebrity TV is all they seem to be putting out at the moment, I cant stand any of it myself its total shite.
Its just a total lack of imaginiation from TV execs, find a format that works then rinse the fornicating shite out of it. Antique shows, Property shows, Reality shows all caned to fornicate.
The BBC are just as bad, worse perhaps as I have to pay over £100 a year for a TV licence whether I watch their garbage or not. A scrapping of that fee is long overdue.

In fact that is one argument against scrapping the license fee. The commercialisation of TV has led to a proliferation of channels all apeing one another.
Do a little experiment. If you have cable or sattelite TV, whenever you turn it on, go to the four main channels first. Within 10 minutes chances are you will find something worth watching.
Now try just general channel surfing. You end up spending most of the night desperately trying to find something to watch and driving yourself made flicking around.
'choice' is an overated concept. I've got over 900 channels, however at any one time, over 890 of them are showing utter bollocks.
BBC2, and Channel 4 are without any doubt the best general service channels. National Geographic and Discovery are good, but just how many variations of 'Uncovered Monkey-Crocodile Nazi gold Horde of the Nile part 8" can you stand?

True, but that was before the explosion of satellite TV. They could never get viewing figures like that now. Back then it was 3 or 4 channels.REAL_DEAL wrote:ITV used to get millions back in the day. 15+ for benn - euabnk and recently woods - johnson got 2 not bad 4 fighters who arent really known.
I'd rather watch a million repeats on Discovery back to back than 1 reality TV show.jamesmcdonnell wrote:In fact that is one argument against scrapping the license fee. The commercialisation of TV has led to a proliferation of channels all apeing one another.
