What does that have to do with anything? Klitschko's will never be in the same class as Roy Jones and that is what I make light of because all the Klitschko nut-huggers think both klits already rank with Jones!

Wouldn't argue if anyone has Jones between 35-45. Hard pressed to put lower than 35 though.

Your problem is, you place too much emphasis in moving up in weightclass. You saw what that ultimately got Jones as he couldnt take the loss to return at LHW.

You simply bash Klitschko based on two losses that weren't REALLY him being outclassed or outworked, mostly medically-based but thats beside the point.

Roy Jones was 49-3, yeah a great record.. but who did he beat? Other than a before-his-prime Hopkins and a famine-stricken Toney? His wins consisted of mostly B and C class fighters. All his weight-increases did was prove moving up 6 or 7 pounds didnt change much as there was just as many mediocre fighters in higher divisions as there were in lower ones. OH and that positive steroid tests don't mean much if your name is Roy Jones Jr. IF James Toney's name was in fact Roy Jones, he would be in a similar spot right now in regards to the positive test and in boxing history (Note: the word 'similar' is not equivalent to 'identical'). If Roy was so great, he wouldn't have got savagely beaten in his last two fighters by B-level guys at similar points in their career (albeit Tarver has less wear).

Is Roy in the top 50? Probably. Top 40? Maybe.. Any higher is a stretch, and you REALLY are pulling for some of these guys who you say Roy is superior Example: Willie Pep. I mean all these ABC belts nowadays do make Roy's achievements look much more swell compared to the guys from past history as there weren't as many organizations.

Glad to see that my opinion means so much that you feel the need to talk about it! Anyway, try to keep this thread from becoming yet another Klitschko thread, because I see nothing of their name in the thread title!

Passionate stuff fella's! Doesn't anybody reckon Erik Morales deserves a mention? This is a fighter who dodges no one, he fights the best to prove he is the best. Some people even think he is the best current pound for pound fighter. If he could get another match up against Barrera and beat him, then do the same with Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, surely he'll be one of the greatest fighters of all time.

Morales is one of those rare fighters that fight nothing world class opposition and for the most part usually wins. He has been a consitent top 10 P4P fighter for 10 years, or ever since he beat up Zaragoza!

I'm not too sure myself, we are talking about the only heavyweight fighter who has never been beaten in his entire 49 fight career......has only ever been knocked down once.......didn't start boxing until he was 22.......and fought the likes of, Joe Louis, Joe Walcott and Archie Moore.........and knocked them all out! Greetings, gentlemen. I am new here and greatly appreciate the level of historical knowledge on display. I would like to weigh in on Jones Jr. and his place on the "All-Time" great list. Personally, I was never impressed by him; granted he had fast hands, good pop in his punches, etc... but he never learned to fight. What I mean is this: most of his opponents were far outclassed and thus intimidated and let him have his way. He developed many bad habits such as leaping in with chin up and hands down and, when he opened up with punches, dropping his hand while his chin was up in the sky. Doing that against fighters who know how to fight and are trying to win asnd who punch when the other fellow is punching would've gotten him killed. I don't see him doing well, ever, against an opponent that came to him behind a strong jab, or one that pressed him relentlessly and skillfully. Gene Fullmer would have KO'd hin in 7-9 because of his pressure, and because nothing in his career indicaes to me that Roy had heart for that type of conflict
