Brewster mate, don't think even the Germans would make a mismatch of that scale - shot supermiddleweight faces heavyweight contenderMightyWarrior wrote:Krasniqi looks like he can more than hold his own against Brewer ( September is it? ) might even be favorite if it's happening in Germany.

Krasniqi showed a good jab from the off, outboxing the taller American, and flashed a dangerous looking right hand cross a few times early on.
Whenever Lance opened up ( rarely ) Krasniqi would just back off and let the pressure subside - then just start pumping out that acurate jab again.
Don't think anyone expected the sudden ending, right after the bell to start the round. The German stepped in with one of those big right hands and caught Whitake high on the head - almost a temple shot- sending him crashing onto his back by the ropes. He tried to get up, but was OUT....
Krasniqi looks like he can more than hold his own against Brewer ( September is it? ) might even be favorite if it's happening in Germany.
IMO Kohl and King agreed in the fight date, September 28th in Hamburg (100th Birthday of Max Schmeling) with Adamek vs Ulrich on the Undercard. Kohl was in Chicago for the Brewster fight. Brewster has to make a mandatory next vs the #1, Luan. Wladi won´t fight Luan. That scares the shit out of him, imaging that he could lose vs his former "underachieving" team mate and knowing that he lost vs Luan at the 1995 World Championships (Amateur), where Luan only lost vs legendary Felix Savon.Chopping Right wrote:What are the chances of Brewster v Krasniqi getting made? Luan has Universum behind him who can provide the kind of cash that gets US fighters over to Germany but Brewster is with Don King, who prefers his heavyweights to fight each other. Wouldn't surprise me if the WBO end up stripping Brewster in time for a failure to fight Krasniqi, Universum promote a lot of WBO fights and I'm sure they would be sympathetic to the German camp if Brewster started prevaricating, say if he had a fight with another King champion coming up. Until Lamon KO'ed Wladimir the WBO heavy title had been virtually a fixture on the Universum mantlepiece for years. Wouldn't surprise me if Krasniqi ending up fighting Wladimir for a vacant WBO title before the end of the year.
There certainly are some big, big paydays to be had in Germany at the moment. I think Calzaghe got a helluva bundle considering he was facing a guy he had already beaten in the past.BubiScholz wrote:Kohl has the power and the money to bring this fight to Germany on this historical day. It will be Brewsters biggest payday of course. he will get at least 2 Mio. $. Whitaker even got almost a milion Euros.
We´ll have the bigest purses in Super Middle and Heavy actually, more than in the States. Byrd was offered 4 Mio. Euros to fight Wladi in Dortmund.......Chopping Right wrote:There certainly are some big, big paydays to be had in Germany at the moment. you are right, only Vitali got 7 figures purse in the US, about 3 Mio. $, but it is not more than he could get here. The other 3 champions don´t get a million. You only earn fornicating much money when the crowd goes crazy and you sell a lot of PPV´s.knockout wrote:dont be fooled into thinking the US is the home of big purses.... Golata got 5 figure purse (dollars) for his fight with ruiz or byrd cannot remember which...... he could have got a lot more fighting for the EBU title...
didnt see the purse brewster got versus Golata but you can bet he'll get a lot more fighting Krasniqi
so for 3 world title challenges i reckon Golota earned about $350000... about euro 275000.....would have got about that for one EBU fight i reckonLatuch! wrote:It was reported in polish press Brewster got 650.000 and Golota 150.000.
Golota should have fought in Germany...
But you have to consider he came from absolutely nowhere to get those 3 title shots. The most undeserving heavyweight title shots I can rememeber in a long time.knockout wrote:so for 3 world title challenges i reckon Golota earned about $350000... about euro 275000.....would have got about that for one EBU fight i reckonLatuch! wrote:It was reported in polish press Brewster got 650.000 and Golota 150.000.

He signed with Don King, what more should a guy do?nickd wrote:....what he'd actually done previously to get them which was fook all.
I just read that Scott Pembertons promotor offered Markus Beyer $500K for fighting Pemberton in the US, I wondered how much Sauerland laughed when he got that "offer".BubiScholz wrote:you are right, only Vitali got 7 figures purse in the US, about 3 Mio. $, but it is not more than he could get here. I think he priced himself out of a Lacy left, he want a big purse for a world title fight.jomothepure wrote:I thought Pemberton, himself at least, was stoney broke, and needed fights wherever and wherever he got them. Is he not WBC #1, and was he not due to face Lacy a few months back too?
