Can we get him? Ricky would be laughing.Freiheit wrote:Roger Tillerman has refereed IBF fights before and he is neutral![]()
I just find it odd a referee of Parris' stature has been given this one. Despite being capable of it (IMO) I don't think he is as internationally regarded in stature as the likes of Harry Gibbs. Bit odd to have a low tier top quality ref in the first place, but more so when he comes from the same country and has done 2 of the home fighters bouts in the last year. Hatton really has the definition of 'home advantage' - allegedly has swayed everything in his way. Hatton should thank him big time if he does deliver - win or lose.Chopping Right wrote:I agree Cortez has reffed many more big fights, but why does that mean he is a better ref, what is the difference to a ref between different levels of fighters? Surely we are not saying the big occasion would adversely affect an experienced ref like Parris?Manos de Oro wrote:He may or may not be better, but Cortez is way, way more proven and experienced at this level.

It's hard to distinguish sometimes what he is doing in there...whoever mentioned Calzaghe-Mitchell i don't think it was Parris who reffed it, wasn't it Terry Edwards? I like Parris he is a good ref but i would also have preferred Cortez, Nady, Smoger someone along those lines to really add to the proper world title feel. What about Bill Clancy? He is a good ref.Riddick Blowe wrote:'I am the referee'
