That's absolutely fine with me. If a body such as the WBE came along (as they have) and ask for their title holders/history to come along, and boxrec accept, and then good people like you do it. That's great. Just that I think some sanc. bodies would maybe struggle to provide enough champions and or enough history to make it worthwhile. That's all. Keep it up.

P.S. Just out of interest, when you (Harley) quoted my last post, was it you that asterixed out 'recent?' no problem if you did, just qurious. When I looked at it just now thought I'd subconsiously slipped in the world'd most blasphemous swear word or something!

I totally agree with Pedro. Every title that a boxer contests should be noted in their record for historical purposes. No matter how silly or worthless the belts may seem to be to us - they must mean something to the fighters that fought for them, and boxing fans/historians could still choose to ignore them if they wish.
I realise that it is probably a logistical nightmare to include everything but if guys like Pedro are willing to take on the challenge why not let him?

Sanction Bodies

Post by David Robinson »

Dear Mr.Harley Race,Jr,
I'm also a user and a supporter/fan of WBE organization.I'm very glad to know you,I will support you encourage the BoxRecord to add some sanctions bodies that have the potential. For example:IBA,WBE,IBC,IBU,etc..

The World Boxing Empire is a United States-based the governing body that the sanctions world title bout(Man/Women).The WBE also was former well-known the WBS.The WBE is to exercise its authority active regulate control and supervise professional boxing in its respective jurisdictions whose aim is to become one of the most active and prestigious in the world with branches in Asia-Pacific,Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The WBE has 19 weight divisions. And I think that the WBE will replace Australia-based the World Boxing Foundation (WBF)

Title:
‘World Major Titles’= WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO.
‘World Minor Titles’= IBO,WBE,IBA,WBU,WBF,IBA,IBU etc...

You mean replace them in terms of respect and prestige or buy them out sort of thing? I take it the former?

As a follow up actually, could I ask you, in your capacity within the WBE, a couple of sanctioning body-related questions.

Firstly, please don't take any of this the wrong way. I have no problems at all with the WBE in particular, this is just a couple of q's I'd genuinely like to hear the answer to from your point of view.

1) As I'm sure you're aware of, and perhaps in some respects appreciate, many boxing fans are sceptical/hostile towards the need for new sanctioning bodies - mostly along the lines of - "do we really need x number of heavyweight champions" - What would you say to them and how would you argue the case in defence of the WBE's and other's existance?

Well, that's just one big question really. Would very much appreciate your opinion.

Cheers
