That's 252. Considering he's had a year off, and that his last five fights, excluding Hersisia, he was 255-257, that's probably to be expected. Definitely agree though, 245 against Herisisa he looked the best, and had one of his best performances then as well.

we have more boxing in june & JULY than we have had all year

EXCELLENT. :box:
That's possibly saved Sky my subscription for the next few months.

I was thinking of cancelling as there is absolutely nothing I want to watch for the next couple of months until the footy season starts again anyway.

But some weekly boxing might just swing me....
I think they are showing Hopkins next fight as well.

This is looking very good now. Question is why didn't they adopt this policy years ago? It's always been Sky writing the cheques, so why not enforce quality-control the way HBO do?

Obviously its good to see them at all but why are most of them delayed and not live? :-?

Somehow, I don't get the feeling Harrison will be too pleased with Watts/Barry's comments before the fight.
Kirk Johnson sloping in for a comeback of sorts against Diaz. Fairly intriguing, although Johnson should win if he has any promise left in him whatsoever. Tell you tho - josh fg - if you were worried what Audrey weighed in at, I wouldn't even consider contemplate watching Kirk.

Harrison v Johnson, that might be a good one for the future - two underachieving former Olympians with no time to spare in their careers. Actually compared to Kirk's sloth-like progress to his first title fight (9 years!!) our Audley's professional career has been nothing short of meteoric. :o

The heavyweight division isn't that great at the mo, with a couple of carefully picked fights our Audrey could be in the world title picture, hell DW loses to MS and the next thing you know he beats tyson and fights big Vit. Audley could be there or thereabouts by the begining of 2007.

Audley wins TKO 7th. A stunning combination of about 10 left hands and then a weak right finished the job. He was ok at times but was stunned by Davcis once. This from what I've heard anyway.I think he'll need quite a few more rounds before he can think about anything exciting.

Don't know what the TD was that Kirk Johnson won by.

Just thinking about the BBC and them finishing their boxing coverage. For a random quote to sum it up (you would probably have to reverse it tho) I take you to Sean Connery in Indiana Jones 3, talking to Ford. "You left just as you were becoming interesting." Although in the case it was "You dumped us all just as we were becoming interesting."

:o Shit, bit philosophical and stupid for this time in the morning. :o

Not a bad result by Harrison after being out of the ring for a year, Davis isn't a top heavy but at least brought some determination to the contest.

Maybe being in America will make Harrison pick up the pace in the contests, have to bring the big punches out. Will be interesting who he lines up next. Good luck to him anyway, me being a Harrison fan and all that,

Sounds like the perfect fight to shake off his ring rust in, he didn't seem to get everything his own way and got a good few rounds under his belt. Bring on the McCline level opponent

Yes the BBC's timing couldn't have possibly been worse frankly. Spend a fortune on Audley, and show Witter, Froch, Eastman etc before they do anything interesting, then don't show Hopkins v Eastman (was Setanta I believe) the only good fight they picked up was Woods v Hoye and of course the two Johnson v Woods fights.

Now Witter, Froch and Woods are likely to be in some interesting fights, Audley's in America fighting some decentish names, and Khan is on ITV.

What a shambles they made of it.

The clouds parted and frometh the bedazzling light cometh a man and he was a Great man, of dark skin, immense height and quick hands, as he appeared he said from this day forth I shall be known as A-Force.

He graced our humble planet with his special presence and skills, as he was hear with one mission on his mind, to become a hero to the children and a friend to the World.

At first the foolish crowds mocked him as they were not to know. Even the wicked kings of the lands conspired to keep him down by attempting to block his path at every turn, whilst they were blissfully unaware that they were fuelling the fire that burned deep within this Great man.

It mattered not what challenges were thrown at A-Force, he confronted them all head on and rose and rose above them, until the time came when he was ready to confront this humble World as a whole.

He merrily made his way to the epicentre, as to get the exposure he needed. The times became troubled and the challenges more distinctive and harder, but by now the drive that powered the Great man was unstoppable and the crowds began to see this and one by one they sat up and listened, and the strong among them admitted their foolhardy comments and respect was given.

The inevitable time came when the goals were achieved and the spectacles that were viewed along this long magnificent journey were something for everyone to behold and as the roar of "All my Critics Bow" reverberated around the lands, the people joined as one and celebrated as they had truly been blessed with a gift, the gift of A-Force.

watching Audley, the word horrible came to mind.
his 5 punch per round output was the most boring, strange, confusing thing I have ever seen.
I know he has a great left hand, but too bad he only threw it 6 times through 6 rounds.
He would land his 1 left per round and then grab Davis like you would grab your first girlfriend.
I bet the under so I was upset he took his time, still a winning wager, but he could have finished Davis off earlier with his left hand.

almost like watching Ruiz fight. jeez

Do you reckon he could handle Brock, Spreadking? I hardly used to rate Brock at all but the pace he kept up for the McCline fight was impressive last time out. I think he'd wipe the floor with Harrison.

Posted: 10 Jun 2005, 11:43
by Spreadking
Brock could handle him last night.

Harrison needs to throw about 35 jabs per round and launch about 15 good left hands. He has an okay right hook. his movement is good and he has the height. might not be fun to watch him run, but it works for him.

That's been my biggest gripe from day 1. If Audley had it in him to set something called a pace then he could be something even without a big punch.

But as it is he has a very poor engine for a future title contender, an engine which isn't going to get any better now.

sounds like the old workrate problem.

He ain't going nowhere, and I don't think I need to watch the fight to say that.

He's never been a high workrate fighter, but to be fair he's coming off a long layoff. I'd give him a chance against someone like Ruiz, but the experience would probably tell.

Bring back Toney...

Oh dear, it seems our US chums on the "Current Scene" weren't too impressed with Audley last night, I await Sky Sports 2 this evening with less excitement. You know I just wonder if mentally Audley "maxed out" when he took that gold medal, and everything else that's followed hasn't had the same drive behind it. I'll give him his dues for the Olympic success, that was a hard gold to win, beating 3 "Soviets" in the process but maybe that was the pinnacle for Harrison.

i have his last fight from a year ago. I thought he could stop Davis and did. Davis didn't throw that many punches either and used a good style. He stayed back and didn't leave himself open for the most part.

Audley kept waiting to counter and his opponent never threw anything. I mean this went on for 1 or 2 minutes in a row. A good fighter wouldn't wait that long without throwing a punch. He needed to take the lead sometime.
