Personally i think Brtish title level middleweights would be at least competetive.

Its interesitng that you mention Ishe Smith probably the best fighter there imo, but as a welter, he managed to give these suppsed world class Middles all hell.

I think that gives a decent barometer as to how good some of these guys are a decent calss Welter managed to go pretty far and beat some of em up.

I agree the whole presentation of the show (apart from the complete final) "sucked balls", that's why I hardly bothered to watch it. The Ultimate Fighter was far superior.

However none of that means that Mora can't be a decent fighter, he blatantly is. I'd been impressed with Manfredo's performances too before the series even started, I think theses guys are being sold a little short here when being compared with the likes of Lockett and Dann.

I'm not saying Mora could just stroll in and beat Howard Eastman, but I would like to highlight the that the main reason Eastman has such an impressive record is because he's fought almost his whole career in domestic class.

Ishe Smith is a level above David Barnes, for me (and I would have said this before the show) Ishe Smith is a World class Welterweight geniune. I have seen enough of him against solid opposition to gauge that. He would certainly beat both Riveria boys.

When the names where announced I thought he was going to wipe the floor with the competition and show even at the higher weight due to the shortage of the rounds, but he didn't. So the fact he won just one contest I don't think means "he gave them hell".

I do agree, I think it would have been nice to have seen some of the earlier contests in full to properly gauge their talent, but I was impressed with the 2 winners of the final show, I think a 7 round contest is a good indication of their talents and the fact they have fought 12 round contests in the past might indicate they have the stamina.

Personally, I think Elcock, Dann and Lockett might have done alright but I don't see them winning it. I don't think they would have beaten the second round guys. You criticise Manfredo for being over hyped and a stationary target, very true - but what about Lockett, Manfredo moved like Ali compared to him.

fiarne ough Kil im not saying Mora isnt a decent fighter mate, what Im saying is id like to see him fight someone live and in a proper bout away from hollywood influence before I make my mind up is all.

I agree IShe Smith is a talented fighter and I think will go on to have a better career on paper than any of the others. 5 rounds did not suit his style lets face it he's a 10/12 round fighter nowadays.

Manfredo was a nice guy, well protected and average!

Mora was a good boxer but like I said can't punch 16 (3ko's) and has never boxed in over an 8 round contest.

I thought it was very naive to say none of our British Boxers would get on in that tournament. I would not hesitate in Scott Dann boxing any of those fighters. They are all beatable. Even Mora was getting caught by Brinkley and Manfredo. Like I said it Mora aint gonna stop anyone so he is going to have to fend off big punchers like Dann and Lockett for 12 rounds that is not easy.

Exactly. 7 rounds against what looked to be decent-but-not-great punchers is one thing. 12 against fighters with real power is quite another. Mora has beat some other decent young pros and a blown-up welter to win the title, in 5 & 7 round fights. He's off to a good start to his career. That's it. Let's see how he develops before we start going to town.

He may be as mad as a badger, but Bubi's right about one thing: we do seem to overrate American fighters on this side of the Atlantic. When Mora looks good in a proper fight, we can talk about 'future champ' & 'better than all our lot'. Until then, well done to him, but let's just hang fire for 12 months or so, eh?
