Peter Haymer WPTS 10 Tony Oakey (defends English title).
Not the greatest fight ever, but Oakey was robbed here - honest he was. I didn't score the fight but he looked a good 3 round winner, he just wanted it more.
It's hard for me to fathom why Oakey took that fight and even went after the English title. For someone who desperately needed a victory to get his career back on track, he would've been better off going after a WBU or WBF type of title since at least 3 judges would be scoring that. I guess I can see why guys would want to go after the British title (although, it seems way to easy to get robbed there -- Vanzie was robbed twice against Earl and Vincent was jobbed against Barnes), but these lesser titles such as the English or Celtic make no sense to me for a decent fighter. If you're going to pursue a second-rate belt, at least get one that's going to be judged by three judges.

he must have put a hell of a lot into those attacking salvos for it turn aorund like that.
felt really sorry for him actually.
good heart shown by earl but he is gonna get smashed up by someone but credit where it is due, he really came back from the brink.
good fight.

I think Earl needs a bit more credit than he is getting he was totally gone and showed tremendous heart as well as one hell of a chin to come through that sixth round. He's proved he can take a punch before he took the best the Murray had to offer and just walked through them.
Yes he's been involved in some controversial decisions but I think last night he showed he had the heart of a champion.

Great fight, I thought when He put Earl down Bennett would stop him in that round but he got it all wrong he smothered his own work getting in too close holding Earls head whilst trying to hit him i think the ref had no alternative but to keep breaking them up Bennett should have stayed at range and picked his shots and i'm sure the ref would have stopped it, only himself to blame.
