I certainly agree with that principle, although your choice of Mayweather is a surprise to me. But does Gatti have the ability to do anything about his discontent? That's what I'm not too confident of.

Well, Mayweather has looked a little off as of late...

And what's worse is his competition has gone down hill a lot... (His second fight with Castillo was way back in 2002' - since then his level of comepition has been not that of a surpossed P4P No.2 fighter!).

I actually want Gatti to win tonight!... But 've put my money on Mayweather.

Mind you, If Mayweather wins, and then Hatton get's to face him... I can see Hatton beating TWO top P4P guys!

And I'm a Hatton fan!... ;)

Hatton v Mayweather would be great. I don't see it though, the fight cannot have much appeal to Floyd after seeing how Ricky swarmed Kostya, Floyd does not need that all over him for 36 minutes while he's trying to box clever. But he needn't worry, there is the old HBO - Showtime problem to stop it happening.

Yep... Depends how easily Mayweather beats Gatti tonight, (to boost his confidence). I'm sure they can come to some sort of agreement with regards to Showtime/HBO. They did it for Lewis vs Tyson, so it can be done.

I dunno about you, but I'm getting a bad feeling that Mayweather may pull a Roy Jones Junior... i.e... He'll move up to welterweight after beating Gatti, and avoid all the dangermen and proper champions @140lbs?

Showtime and HBO can come to terms over their respective properties, but it only seems to happen when there is mega-money to be made, such as fights like Lewis v Tyson and before that Lewis v Holyfield. Sadly I don't suppose Hatton v Mayweather is going to fall into that bracket, so if both hold titles (as is likely by tomorrow morning) then I can't see how the fight can happen unfortunately.

As for a possible Floyd move up to welter, well I don't know that he'll need to if he wants to avoid any dangerous fights. Hatton is with Showtime and Tszyu is out of the picture, maybe for good. The obvious man to target is Miguel Cotto who Floyd might very well fancy he can beat, but even that fight could be tricky being as Cotto is Arum's current cash cow.

castillo is probably a little better than Gatti, but i think Gatti hits harder, and i think he's a little naturally bigger, though not a lot in it as Castillo as fought as a welter before.

I have a feeling this will be good fight, though it could be like sweet pea against Nelson, Nelson was the naturall smaller man, but he was a better boxer than nGatti and was made to look like a clubfighter by Sweet pea.

I reckon Hatton vs Mayweather could generate quite a lot of money. allegedly has been talking about it being held at Cardiff Millenium stadium with Calzaghe vs Lacy on the undercard, infront of 70,000 fans.

That's 70,000 £££'s! ... not 70,000 $$$!'s for each seat. So that's BIG money.

And Floyd Mayweather is always going on about money, money, money, so I reckon he'll take the fight even if he doesn't think he can win it.
