Khan has a glass chin. I dont think he will last long when he starts to mix it up with ranked pros.

That sounds a bit harsh, are you saying that based on the knockdown in the first round of the ABA's, or other results as well?

Amir Khan has vowed to become a world champion by the age of 21- and hang up the gloves by the time he is 26.

The Olympic silver medalist makes his professional debut against David Bailey on July 16 at the Bolton Arena, Bolton.

But he is already planning the latter stages of his career.

"The target is to be one of the youngest ever world champions by the time I'm 21," Khan told AFP's Nick Parkinson in an exclusive interview.

"My ambition is to become a world champion and then retire as a legend. I want to retire at a young age. Boxing is a short career and at the age of 26 and 28 people are starting to take beatings.

"It's hard to give up but it's harder to quit and I want to. I've been boxing ten years and will be going for another eight years.”

Allmost all hyped Boxing prospects say exactly the same thing, time will tell if he is as good as his word.

Very few World class fighters (if that is what Khan becomes) retire at 26.

If it's of any interest to anyone, I've heard Bailey will be getting around £5,000 for this fight.

Are purses technically "secret" in the UK or are they supposedly to be publicly known. They rarely get mentioned during the coverage, yet they are rather important!

Why do people do this? It was the same with Audley going on about how he was going to be British champion within 5 fights. It can only make you look stupid.

I assume that may be due to some people not being too keen on young Mr Khan rather than a detailed analyst of the up-coming Boxing match.

Thinking of Olympic star pro debuts, the hardest one I can recall was for Holyfield. He made his debut in NY alongside all the other USA stars from the 1984 Games - Whitaker, Taylor, Breland, Biggs etc.

And his fight was the toughest, against a decent fighter with 10 or so wins. They knew he was the real deal even back then.

Is it true that Kindelan wants to help coach Khan in his early years as pro? I think I read it somewhere..

I voted for David Bailey. I'm not looking for Amir Khan to trip up after all he has done for boxing in this country but it's a ruthless game and if he's going to be a big name he has a few tests to pass. David is a weight below Amir and is a good honest professional so Amir will need to be focussed and prepared. If Amir wins without complaint he will have passed a proper test.

Meldrick Taylor won an Olympic gold at 17 didn't he?
