I rememebr watching ti on TV and being lost for words. Strangely it was the 3 KD rule that did it. Witherspoon couldn't stay on his feet but he was still in control of his senses, saying that Smith would have bounced him up and down all night. He didn't have Tim's talent but he was always in good shape.
He proabably wasn't in the right frame of mind.Bonecruscher had a fight that month with Mitch Green(which he would've lost), so he was already prepared to fight somebody. I think Tim wasn't really prepared to fight the guy and actually beat Bonecrusher pretty easily the year before.

I remember that Smith was ready to figth someone else. Tim always had a soft pudding look about his torso. I still think he could have been a top fioghter had eh dedicated hismelf more ot a training regime.

Let's give the guy some credit. He actually was a top HW during the 80's, despite his sometimes less than top conditioning.

You're right. He had a lot of skill but he could have achieved so much more. The stuff with King didn't help either. I'd love to have seen him in shape square off with Tyson.

I agree. Witherspoon probably had the skills and experience to do very well against Tyson.
