Caught Povetkin on Eurosport tonight, first time I've seen him. Not bad, overall. Looks a bit too flabby, but so do a lot of heavy's these days. When he let the shots go, though, I could see how he achieved so much as an amateur. As has been stated earlier, he's no Tyson-esque saviour, but he seems to do a lot of things well, and right now, that may well be enough. I'll be keeping an eye out for him, certainly.
first time I'd seen Valuev-Donald as well. I'd read plenty about it on various forums, mind you, and I was under the impression it was a flat-out robbery from some of my reading (A lot of which was American, in fairness). Not that close, if you ask me. Valuev was nowt special, but a winner nontheless. Still don't think much of the giant, but, again, how much does anyone impress in the heavyweights today? I still think his sheer size will be enough to see off Ruiz.
Props to Eurosport, though. I've lost count of the bouts I'd otherwise have missed that they've shown this year, even if it is on a fortnight's delay.
