I saw the Luan & Whittikar fight and to be honest I was not impressed by either, all it was from both of them was jab, hold, jab hold, at walking pace, Luan did land one big right hand that hit Whittikar on the temple that ko'd him.

I will rate him #2 after a win over Brewster. Regarding the inactivity of Vitali this year, it´s also posible to rate him #1. He is IMO better than Byrd (as quick, hits harder) and Ruiz.

What has that got to do with anything? Henry Tillman beat Tyson in the amateurs.

No way will he be the best titleholder, it would still be Vitali or Byrd.

it was a better fight than all american title fights. only Brewster was impressing against Golota. But a real good KO against one of the best contenders is not impressing? What have Ruiz and Byrd done over the last years? they don´t have such a good performance in their records. Luan showed impressing footwork, a brilliant jab, hard combos, a quick and bombastic right. I would give him a good chance vs Vitali. He knows him from the amateurs and from sparring at Universum. When Luan was at the amateurs only Savon was a little better. they both reigned the heavy division.....

tough fight, think it will be a great fight with Luan winning in a big way ko 10. To energic for Lamon, top condition and hits quite hard too!
If mr Brewster doesn't KO his foe inside 3 rounds he's dead meat! after that only a lucky punch can save him and i really do not believe that Luan is the guy that can be ko'ed that easy. it will be an entertaining fight this one!

Looking forward to this, a very decent match - nothing like a big heavyweight showdown, starring a local hero.

WBO title....whatever - it's a serious fight with millions at stake: the winner should come away with big respect and will no doubt be a big player on the heavyweight scene - let's face it, there aint much out there at the moment.

The German crowds can be pretty quiet sometimes, but they'll no doubt be giving Luan huge support on the night - should be some atmosphere in there.

Brewster's confidence will be sky high at the moment - I reckon we'll see him coming out guns blazing: if he can coldcock a rejuvinated Golota like that, he'll fancy his chances with the German - Luan will be feeling the pressure in his first Big Fight and better make sure he doesn't get caught cold.

He can win this, but it wont be easy.

:o God this is a depressingly optimistic thread, fact is these two hardly set pulses racing. Luan has done bollock all to deserve a shot but then again it is only the WBO title. Although it would be good to see an Albanian born guy win a meagre portion of Heavyeight Gold Brewster will I think win in the middle rounds

Ruiz vs Toney and even Golota vs Brewester were bigger events.
id say that due to the fact its on max's 100th bday (RIP) gives it extra significance buddy, so i dont have a prob with it being up there as the biggest heavywght fight this year.
and there will be no Heavy fight with more mone in it this year. I promise that when Luan wins, here in Germany will be a monster hype and fornicating money in the game. Another title defence and a Klitschko-Krsaniqi-fight could sell out our biggest arena with capacity of 70,000. The press is already talking about to fight Wladi next......
Now there is more money in the Vitali-Rahman-fight. Vitali will get 7.5 millions US$

Krasniqi as fast as Byrd? Come on you'll get no credibility with comments like that . .

Luan is the Euro-Calvin Brock . . .solid all around but nothing special. If properly judged he would have lost to friggin' TIMO HOFFMAN and this fight wouldn't even be taking place.
He looked solid against Whitaker but Lance looked AWFUL. EXTREAMLY slow, no gameplan, no snap. He basically got inside the bigger man (as Whitaker's pawing jab was softer then my pillow) and landed jabs and one-twos all night.
Brewster is nothing special either so I give Luan a chance. But I still see Brewster taking advantage of the situation and beating Krasniqi with his greater talent. Even if Krasniqi wins he'll get eaten up by either Klitschko

Luan would easily outpoint Byrd. He also beat both Klitschko at the amateurs, so he is not without any chance..... Brewster is of course more dangerous than Byrd because of his punch. Regarding the Hoffmann-fight I don´t know anybody beside Sauerland-members who scored the fight as a win for Hofmann....The draw was political. The intention was a rematch on the other channel. nobody expected a win over Whitaker. So there was still an option to fight Hoffmann for the EBU-title again. this would show up more money like a fight vs a Vidoz or Sprott....

sorry mate but he wouldnt easily out point byrd at all.the only heavyweight who may have easily out pointed chris byrd would have been roy jones just after the Ruiz fight.

Even lennox would have had trouble with Byrd, though I believe he woul d have ko'd him, but Luan is no bloody lennox lewis nor is he roy jones.

No hype. I give him a good chance vs Byrd. What did Golota? Even he had a chance. Both Klitschkos pointed him out.....Byrd is not the hero in Heavyweight. For Luan Byrd is easier to box than Ruiz I think.

Ok maybe im misunderstnading you here mate, i thought easily outpoint indicates a pretty one sided points victory, Luan may well have a good chance, but the one way i cant see him winnig is by landlside points, thats not just Luan neither, i cant see Byrd getting outboxed thoroughly to lose by landlside points deicison, close points then sure, maybe even a ko, if he tagged him well enough. And i know you bring up golatoa but he is better than hoffman, they all have their excuses.

just my thoughts though for what they are worth.

Golota is of course better than Hoffmann.... I would say that Luan and Byrd have a similiar level with THE advantage for Byrd: He is already champ and has far more experience in title fights. If didn´t win vs Brewster he could go for Byrd next. But I hope he will win. We were waiting 1000 years for a pope, so I hope it won´t take that long for a Heavyweight champ......

Byrd is streets ahead of Krasniqi. But as you say Byrd has been at the top for a long time, Krasniqi is only just entering world championship level even if it is the WBO. But if they fought tomorrow Byrd would beat him handily I think. Krasniqi is solid all round but not exceptional at anything. Could still be enough to beat Brewster, if he turns up as poorly prepared as he did for the Meehan debacle then Krasniqi will wipe the floor with him.

He is no Audley Harrison, he has already reached something I predicted last year when you and the other Harrison-hypers were saying that H. is much better an will reach more........... :o I never said he is the new Ali or something like that.
