Writing... I'm currently working on a screenplay for a producer in UK. I'm really hoping something comes of it.

I also have a couple of novels (thrilelrs) written and I'm currently sniffing around for an agent...

Other than that watching films and reading novels. Also cooking, eating too much, having a beer etc... (once the kids are in bed).

As well as boxing I like the football (Boro are my team). And as geeky as it sounds I'm pretty interested in the weather which is just as well because I'm a weather forecaster. I'm quite into reading and cooking, as well as the usual shit like having a drink, a bet and a cigar. And like a few of you I 'manage my weight' when the need arises!!!

I enjoy writing, playing guitar, football (soccer in U.S.), video games, reading, and uh... women. Yeah, I guess I can say top three things I love are
1. Women, 2. Music, 3. Boxing. And top three things I hate are, 1. Women, 2. Boxing (when it's corrupted.), and 3. Racism. (Don't always hate women.. but sometimes, jeez... )

you probably know this already, but get hold of a copy of The Writers & Artists Yearbook. it lists all the agents and by category of genre they represent authors for

Also, try popping into Murder One on Charing X Rd and having a chat with Maxim Jackobuski. He knows everybody there is to know in that field.

I got the writers handbook, but don't remember seeing agents listed.

Writers handbook has just about everything in it. I bought it in 2001 but didn't use it much.....

I've got to get an agent for this children's book I'm working on.

Just about to buy a rowing machine myself, though not one of those concept II's as they are 1200 quid.

I like the rowing machine for warming up, but not for a full workout. for shredding fat off, nothing beats running.

On Sunday I did a long one ( about 20 miles ) and ran from home-cheapside-High Holborn- New Oxford St- Oxford St- Marble Arch- Hyde park- serpentine- birdcage walk- Victoria St-Pariament Sq-Westminster Bridge-South Bank- Borough Market- Tower Bridge- St Katerine's Dock- Tower of London - Shoreditch-home.

At about 6am/7am, the city is empty. I always say I run 20 miles and 2000 years.

Running batters my knees, just cannot do it. Rowing machine can get you fit pretty quick, it all depends how hard you push it, it's the hardest cardiovascular exercise there is.

It would probably feel like 2000 years if I ran 20 miles.

sport watching: rugby cricket
sport playing: occasionally rugby and cricket but regularly squash five aside football and occasionally a bit on the pads.

Music, im music mental, especially reggae. Love it and with this comes cooking, food and good wine. (generally not french which is overpriced and not good value til you spend stupid money.) No no its new world wines for me.

Also love partying, in case you didnt know.

I can back up James claims for his dancing prowess, we went to Roddigians reggae club and tore the arse out of it for 5 hours. Silly dancing ahoy form both sides: Great fun

Cracking night out followed by cracking headache at work the next day.

I saw some talk of a boxrec meet soon, I'm on the wagon for the next month but maybe we could arrange a bit of a pissup for my falling off the wagon week?

it sure was how bout we do it proper and orgainse a night out at an actual boxing show.

We seem to have far too much in common. I spent last night in a Jamaican restaurant on The Holloway rd, eating Curry Goat and listening to tapper Zukie, Billy Boyo and, best of all, Dr Alimontado's " Best dressed Chicken in town"

Going to disagree about the wine.

I have a small collection, but mix old and new world. Great bargains from the "non rioja" regions of Spain and there are some fabulous wines at great prices coming out of The Languedoc in France. Still, if pushed a NZ Central Otago Pinot ( 2002 ) would be my tipple de choix

Well, if you ever fancy meeting for a bit of foot-shaking I'm sure me and J would be up for a visit to another Reggae night, I live in Brixton after all, so not hard to find one.

EXCELLENT! i we do indeed be fun to chat at the next boxrec meet then!!!

I do love a good rioja though for some reason these particular tannins do tend to hurt me the next day.

also i guess having recently gone to South africa and Australia you tend to become somehwat besotted with those particular regions, Bubi and james can ouch for my love of Aussie reds and saffie whites 9chenin blanc), intermingled with the odd Sav blanc.

At present i have a young sauv blanc - Westend Estate for easy drinking and the red is a bin end from the sunday times wine club
Harman's Road Cabernet Sauvignon . (margeret river region)


great stuff and not too expensive neither, the special bottles i put away, far from prying boxing enthuisiasts / friends hands

i have a bottle of 1970 french - chateau le bon pasteur of all names, worht a few quid but that was a present.

im not much of a wine snob i must admit and tend to go lower end under a 100 quid for a case, which lets face it would cost you 10-15 qwuid a bottle inthe supermarket at least, if you buy a case at a time it works out a good deal from there.


If anyone is inteested in the wine club let me know I can put you in touch with them, they are excellent and will leave your delivery where you specify so you dont have all that messing around with signing cards etc.

great stuff. I even had one bottle that smashed they sent me half a case as a replacement.

Argentinia Malbec's are improving, though their more expensive progenitors from Cahor are still worth the expense.

Don't get the whole thing with Chilean Merlot just fruit gums in a glass, though at least they are now marking it properly as carmanere

i dont mind it to quaff mind, but its not what id call a "proper wine", give me a shiraz blend anyday.

Don't like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. I generally like soft spicy wines. Not fond of tannic mouth puckerers. Sangre De Torres is another fave and Rioja is always reliable drinking.
