The Lacy fight is off indefinitely. Shaw has stated that Lacy will not come to the UK to fight Calzaghe and that he'd have to go to the USA if he really wanted the fight and everyone knows that won't happen.

I really really hope that all the other decent Super Middleweights & Light Heavyweights ignore Calzaghe since he really is a joke.

In the pre-fight feature on Calzaghe where he said something along the lines of.

"I'm 33, but Marvin Hagler didn't his big fights untill he was in his 30's"

As for the fight itself, same old same old I've been seeing those sort of fights for the last eight years. I may be very wrong here but part of me is thinking that deep, deep down does Calzaghe really want the Lacy fight? And is he really that upset that he is injured?

I'm sorry but as an ex-fan that just how I feel. I said months ago on this forum that the Lacy fight will not happen as money or injury will 'stop' it from happening.

Joe certainly didn't seem that upset, did he? At least not to me. It was all very, "ah well, nevermind about the Lacy fight. Aren't I great for fighting with one hand?".

Real injury aside, he still would never have taken the Lacy fight in November.

That makes sense, he shouldn't have been that poor. I just read that Quentin Smith who he beat last time out holds 2 wins over Lacy in the amateurs.

I think Calzaghe if he trains right will beat Lacy....if they ever fight. Lacy isn't that good, Sheika gave him hell and hurt him.

Lacy is a damn sight better than most of the roadsweepers Calzaghe has been fighting the last 8 years! Don't expect Calzaghe v Lacy anytime soon.

If November was so important to him he would have cancelled the September fight, I bet he gets better workouts in sparring.

Calzaghe needs to get someone like Steward on board just to wrap his hands for him, I can't believe he does it himself. If the injury is real is it any wonder?

Get him the Winning gloves that Mayweather and Morales uses.

Froch would take care of Ashira right now, and Hennessy probably wouldn't have the cheek to sell it as a world title fight either.

If they fight, at this stage of their careers, I pick Woods to win, he's looking better than ever, and seems to be peaking whilst Calzaghe is on the slide.
