Adamu definitely rocked Froch with one of those right hands he was scoring with seemingly all night.

Something's rotten in Denmark, i smell a rat!

There are to many posters on this thread giving overwhelming support for Froch that i have to question their identities. Are you all genuine fans, all unkown to each other? Perhaps you are Frochs immediate family, maybe even including Froch himself. Maybe you live on his street, or perhaps hang around his gym (i hate groupies). I know there are a few hardened hardons out there who would stand erect behind him even if he lost his next 12, but i dont think thats the case here. A little conspiracy is under way i reckon.

Hmm anyone else smell a dual identity here? I suspect this is boxingchat under another guise.

Froch is young(ish), undefeated, and exciting to watch, he's also intent on fighting the best available competition, and has done things the traditional way. He's also very funny, what's not to like?

Perhaps we should all have a hardon for Calzaghe, who talks but doesn''t ever back up the talk with world class opponents.

Froch would have a fair chance against Calzaghe, despite the fact that Calzaghe is vastly more experienced at top level.

I'm not convinced Froch is going to win a world title, but it won't be for want of trying.

exciting, watching paint dry is more fun!

He is over rated, over hyped and just not that good. Thats my personal opinion, but everybody should know he cannot live with Calzaghe, its plain to me and should be to anyone with sight!

I should add that i am no fan of Calzaghe, like most i recognise his talent but have got truley fed up waiting for him to shine at real world level. The guys a waste of tv space and should not be given anymore coverage until he steps up to the plate and gives the fans what they deserve!

Well if Evans Ashira can 'live with Calzaghe' then I think Froch can. Calzaghe's hands are shot to shit, so there's no reason to suppose that the same thing couldn't happen against Froch, not that the fight is ever likely to happen.

Froch has stopped most of his opponents, and he even managed to make a fight with Barney interesting, which is more than anyone else has done.

You just implied that for Froch to stand a chance Calzaghe has to hurt his hand. Well said, i agree, but what kind of sport would it be if we made fights on these kind of suppositions?

Ok, seems i'm alone on this one, i will stand down for now. I just find it hard to believe so many of you believe Froch could live with Calzaghe........ he would get blown away, the fights a mis-match of sorts (yes i know Calzaghe likes those :-). Hatton/Witter had a right war of words, but Froch/Calzaghe gets minimum press coverage because, i believe, the outcome is a foregone conclusion and not worth being foolish about. We need to hype fights here, it keeps our sport going, but Froch/Calzaghe is just plain old fools gold.

I used to frequent the old seconds out forum, then east side but never boxing chat.

12 months ago, I'd have said Froch had little chance. But right now, Calzaghe looks on the slide. I just don't think he cares anymore, and that could well catch him out against someone who actually comes to win, which is one thing Froch would certainly do.

Calzaghe is a big noise in the division and domestically has to be the target. It's also a big money fight for Froch. It's the natural fight for the division in this country.

The more time passes the more I lean towards Froch on this one, although he'll have to show he's got a chin.
The very fact you think Froch can beat Calzaghe shows you know nothing whatsoever about boxing. Go and do some gardening or something.

Carl Froch needs to leave Hennessey and pursue this fight. If he gets on TV people might start talking about him. If not he will be forgotten. Besides he is not remotely in Calzaghe's league and I am no JC fan either.

All due respect mate, but your posts are starting to sound like Allegedly FW's News of the World column....
Hennessey is the one who has said all these big deals are in place not FW. Fact is, Froch has never appeared on US TV, it was a lie, he was a down the bill fight that was not even taped. ODLH deal is a myth too. Ring them and ask them it's not secret over there. Only Witter interests them IF he fights Mayweather and brings UK TV, so that's flawed as well. But still you all listen.

I'm not saying Froch would beat Calzaghe but he is better than Calzaghe's last 4 opponents so quite how he wont live with him is beyond me.

How would he blow Froch away when he couldn't blow a blown up lightmiddle/middle at the weekend before his hand went? Ashira was never in trouble early on.

In theory you are correct but Boxing is not theory it is practical. JC is way way above Froch. Never in trouble, he was.

Calzaghe's power has always been overrated, he got guys out of there by landing hard and often as opposed to single punch knockouts. There is no denying his skills are on the wane, just look how ragged he was in the first couple of rounds at the weekend. Maybe he's just getting overexcited but he looked like an amateur in there. He is so sloppy and disorganised these days. If he fights like that against Lacy he will get KO'd without any shadow of a doubt.

Listed, Calzaghe was dropped like a sack of shit against Salem, who is more experienced but less talented than Froch.

You really think it so far fetched that Froch could beat him?

I like Froch, he's got the right attitude and hopefully he'll get his Calzaghe match sometime soon - but he needs to beat a few world rated fighters at least, before saying Joe is avoiding him.

I mean, at least beat a recent world title challenger or two first ( there's no shortage of them ) If you look at his record, there's not too many recognisable names on there outside of the UK.

Brian Magee would be a good start...

err no :TU:

If I were managing Froch I'd try to get a Anthony Mundine fight come hell or high water. Gotta be one of the most fragile champs out there ( a Sven Ottke knockout victim no less! ).

There's more "world champions" at supermiddle than contenders these days, so might not be all that difficult.
