I don't think Audley is being avoided because he is dangerous or an Olympic champion i just don't think any of the Heavyweights are generally interested in him. He doesn't have anything to entice them into fighting him.

Even his own country thinks he's a joke. Hardly makes him the man to beat does it.

His compatriots desparaging remarks don't make him a bad fighter either, alot of the criticsm is way over the top considering hes 19 fights unbeaten and hes looked good of late and hes one of the best finishers if not the best in the division

Steve
Beating Audley is definately a feather in anybodys cap, hes one of the few up and coming undefeated fighters and hes an Olympic champion, what do other similar ranked fighters have to entice opponents in the ring that Audley doesn't?

If Audley can get a decent opponent in with him (such as Briggs, Barrett, McCline, Brock, Johnson etc) and put on a good performance hes going to be pushing on the top 10 in the world and it'll raise his stock immeasurably. He just needs that one decent name to sign up and then he needs to dispose of him, I reckon/hope Monte Barrett will take the challenge once his cut has healed, he always seems to be willing to take on the up and comers

Chambers mate how come it's only you that can't read between the lines? You're believing exactly what Team Audley want you to believe, even though he has faced NOBODY.

You're reading things between the lines that aren't there!! Audley wants a BIG fight and he has even gone to the trouble of releasing a press statement calling out 7 different fighters, do you still think that Audley is just calling out these names and hoping that none are going to comeback to him accepting the fight??? Do you think it was all fictional????? If you're right then we should get one of them responding to these slanderous allegations. Come on Kilburn, if you really think that Audley has no intentions of trying to make it to the top and is content with where he has got then you're away with the fairies. Its conspiracy theories gone mad!!!!!

The reason he has faced NOBODY is because they keep turning him down hence the press release :TU:

He possibly could be a great figher he might be a good fighter.

But like other Boxers, who should we blame when someone talks as if they are the best thing since sliced bread, yet do nothing to show us they are.

All fighters have there fans and there non supporters. I for one was so excited when he won the gold medal. I thought here we Go! Lewis on the scene next Harrison to take over. This was an Olympic gold medal winner in the Heavyweight Division What a future he could have & British Boxing!

So how many pro fights are we into now after how many years? Take away the reasons for the inactive years. We should have a UK Champ atleast fighting for European Titles.

Audley now says he is past all that. :o
Past it he hasnt even reached that level! He should be but he has not proved he is that level.

Now we are talking contender level.
I want Audley to be a decent World champion.
What is Audley going to do about it?

Nothing but bitch off, with the whole World against him

Ok, so if I called out Vitali Klitchsko, does that mean he's going to take it seriously?

Press releases, no matter what quarter they come from, should be taken with a ladle full of salt.

Everybody knows that the Domestic title is tied up by allegedly, so Audleys best option was to move to the US where all the world title action happens. There are plenty of fighters who don't go down the domestic route and make it to the top Hatton and Bruno to name 2.

If yourake away the 2 years he has lost too injury then he has been fighting every 2 months, which is acceptable at worst.

You say "What is Audley going o do about it?"
Well hes been calling out Peter and Brock for the last 6 months, but Brock chooses to fight in small hall shows, admittedley Peter has got a good excuse considering his forthcoming fight with Wlad. He's offered Jameel $200,000 dollars to fight him and hes turned it down. Briggs has turned the fight down in favour of a far lesser opponent. Scott and Johnson have also turned the fight down, Etienne has as well in the past and now Audley has released a press statement calling out all 7 fighters trying to talk them into a fight? What else should he be doing?

IMO Audley can still be the one to takeover from Lewis (as you wished) if he gets the right opportunities, if he does get the right opportunities and he doesn't make it then so be it, but not being able to get the fights (being avoided IMO) is criminal. I can't understand why so many are ready to right him off before he has had his chance, its bordering on treason IMO

Audley take over from Lewis? Do me a fornicating favour.

He might win a title, but no way on god's earth will he ever match Lewis' achievements....no way. He's already far too old.

Audley is not calling people out who are World Champions or people that might even be construed as being out of his league, these are all fighters of similar standard, so they should be taking him seriously if they have ambition, it would be a feather in anyones cap to be the one that shut up the BIG mouthed undefeated Olympic champion.

I agree that press releases should be taken with a pinch of salt, as they often get exaggerated for effect, but its plain to see that he is trying to line himself up a BIGgish fight in the tried and testing manner of calling people out, hes putting out the challenge, hes beating his chest!!!, whatever you way you want to put He wants to progress his career.

I didn't say he would achieve the same amount as Lennox, as you say hes far too old. I said he can take over from where Lennox Lewis left off by being the next linear champ, its not beyond the realms of possibility IMO

Call me crazy but I really think Harrison should sign with King. He'd be almost guaranteed a title shot by doing that, and King pretty much controls the division.

I am sorry to change the subject, and I don't wish to pry or ask why, but are Chesney_Chambers and Chambers2 A) the same person B) two different people who coincedentaly share the same name and a passion for Audrey, or C) Two different people who both use the name Chambers as part of some sort of masonic Audley-loving custom that all Audley club affiliates must use.

Sorry again, but small things like this can send simple people like me down the wrong side of the motorway on a Monday morning

All aboard the gravy train!

He's actually knocking on the door now. No one's answering because those above him won't take the risk.

And we still don't know how good he really is!

He is not even on the radar at the moment though, US writers and columinsts who were once more "open minded" than us sceptical brits on a 30 something making it, are rather rapidly getting p'd off at his lack of opponents. I'm sure you have read the scathing reports/opinions of him from American writers.

Whilst it is no where near as bad, it is similar to Ruben Groenwald recently calling out Calzaghe. Calzaghe didn't respond, there is little point wasting his energy on that.

If Stephen Foster Jnr (WBO #7) called out Scott Harrison, would Harrison bother to reply - it is a bit like that at the moment.

Are you telling me that these fighters (Barrett, McCline, Briggs, Peter etc) that Audley is calling out are out of his league, in the similar way to the Foster-Harrison and Groenwald-Calzaghe situations, because thats just not true.

The US writers siupposedly slate him for his 'lack of opponents', but these people don't seem willing to fight him, its a bit of a a catch 22

Would it be possible for Audley to fight Luan Krasniqi or Sinan Samil Sam to show us something of what he is made of?

Atleast if he was to beat these two i would give full support to Audley, never mind how many years he takes to fight for a World title.

Even everyones favourite punchbag Andrew Golota would be a name people know!

I would say the Peter, McCline and probably Barrett will view Harrison as a backward step. They are looking at the world title situation, and I don't mean the WBF belt. Briggs is a different fighter - he is currently off the radar as far a world title are concerned and I think a Briggs vs Harrison fight would be good - if he (Briggs) is serious about making a mark in the Heavyweight scene then yes he should accept the challenge. He is such a loose cannon, I don't seriously think he has the dicipling to make a serious impression on the heavyweight scene.

I think Audley has to cement himself as a undefeated TOP THIRTY fighter before he is ready to call out the top ten/fifteen (with the expection of Briggs) fighters he is calling out. I think he needs to find available opponents from fighters of the callibre of Guinn, Akinwande, Donald, Whittikar, Jeremy Williams, Tye Fields, Kirk Johnson, Michael Moorer, Timo Hoffman etc.

Get a win vs one of these, then he can called out the names he has mentioned. I agree though about Briggs, he is on the level of the fighters I have mentioned.
