Man I'm sooo gonna incur the wrath of you guys by saying this, but I think that bitch Goodman had no right to stop the Larios fight.

There was no medical reason to stop it, no cuts, no concussion. Wayne was perfectly coherent and steady. Ok he was getting a pasting, but for a man who PRIDES himself on the fact he cannot be stopped (the best chin I've ever seen!!) to be stopped, that late, when he knows he can see the fight through to the end pissed me off!!!!

I have spoken to Wayne about this, and he was gutted, Goodman stopped the fight. Wayne was losing bad, but could easily seen the fight thorough, but Goodman couldnt handle it, so robbed Wayne of his un-stoppable record. Now he feel he has something to prove.
"Sucess is the best revenge"
were his exact words. Personally I think he should start looking to wind his career up, but who wants to go out like that! He thinks he has summit to prove.

I see where you're coming from, but surely you can't argue with the stoppage. Just because Wayne can take the punishment, doesn't mean he should take it. Yes, there was no technical reason to stop it, but surely common sense has to count at some point? Wayne has the best chin I've seen in the years I've been following boxing, but there comes a point where it stops being an attribute, and becomes a liability. Don't blame Dr Goodman for stopping the fight, her responsibility is to the fighters health. I'm sure Wayne could have made it to the final bell, but he'd have taken some punishment on the way, and there was no chance of him winning. Pride is a wonderful thing, but fighters need to be rescued from their own bravery at times. Nobody thinks anything less of the Pocket Rocket because a doctor stopped him, after all. Recent events should be enough to remind us that this sport we love is not something worth dying for.

Fair point. Just pisses me off that Larios strolls around saying he was the first to stop Wayne. I would like to have seen Wayne afforded the oppertunity to preserve his record and see the fight through. It's almost as if the situation was fabricated to pad Larios' record.

Surely its not worth Wayne being able to go around saying he went the distance at the cost of perhaps him ending up walking on his heels in years to come.
One of my fears with Wayne is that he's going to carry on until he's knocked out. Going the distance doesn't mean your not taking a beating.
