The same night polisch prospect Dawid Kostecki lost a clear decision to Ismail Abdoul. The fight was for the WBF LHW belt.

The judges were watching another fight though and awarded Kostecki with an UD. So we have yet another LHW world champion in Poland...

Kostecki is actually a young (24) good fighter with a hard punch, but seems to fold under pressure. I do bealieve he will learn to face adversity though and become a decent top 20 LHW.

Abdoul won the fight by about 3 points margin, no doubt about it.

I expect from Kostecki to fight Abdoul again as he is a good kid and should understand he was given a decision he didn't deserve.

Imail Abdoul is a decent boxer and a very likable guy. He said he didn't lost the fight but he doesn't blame Kostecki for the decision. He praisedWlodarczyk for being the only one to knock him out.

At the interview after the fight Michael Timm was asked if he thourght if the count was too fast, he said that the ref counted to ten so he didnt have any problems with it.

Well that's the info Freheit gave us isn't it? What's the problem :o
Well Feiheit reported that the glove ordeal occurred SAturday right bfore the fight. Im showing you guys proof that it was already resolved Friday, morethan 24 before the fight. If Ulrich's camp really did bring it up again just before the fight, it mustve been some sort of a mind game, because they were already informed of the official gloves and sizes of the gloves one day earlier.

Yes I reported just before the fight, but that was because that was when they showed it on TV.

Ah, so please help me get this straight...Team Ulrich never complained a second time? (That is, on saturday?) So the initial dispute on Friday was the only one that you reffered to?

Correct, ARD showed the disputed from the weigh-in friday just before the fight, then they compared a size L and a zize XL glove, they also asked Krasniqi what the difference would be for Ulrich ect.

This is a cut & paste of what i posted on the general forum this morning.

Adamek re-creates famous Forman/Frazier knock-down!

I know this fight was not telivised in the States but i'm wondering who else seen this fight and who else immediately thought of the famous knockdown when Foreman lifted Frazier of his feet. Adamek literally did the same to Ulrich, both of Ulrich's feet momentarily left the canvas and he landed in exactly the same stance as Frazier did, one knee and one foot touching the canvas, before toppling over and being counted out. It was one of the best KO punches i have seen for some time. It was Foreman/Frazier all over again

Ulrich was a game contender, he was fired up from start to finish and constantly tried to pressure Adamek, but the pole was never once fazed and through-out the fight had a menacing grin on his face. He pretty much had the fight under control from the start and was simply taking his time and working Ulrich out before taking him out. Adamek's weakness is his defense, its poor at times and he takes needless shots, but then he appears to be blessed with a rock solid chin never once being troubled by any of Ulrichs punches.

If Adamek gets a fair crack at the whip, i'm tipping him to rule the light-heavyweight division. I actually hope he does not get tied up in re-matches with Briggs, however entertaining they might be, because Adamek has alot more to offer the sport than slug-outs with the Aussie.

Regards
ALI

P.S. for what its worth, the ref was 110% correct in his decision to stop the fight. It was a huge knock-out blow that Adamek landed and it could have gotten very ugly had Ulrich been allowed to continue.

Anyway, does the ref actually have to count to 10, or can he stop the fight anytime he feels like it, during a count or not??? For a fighters safety, the ref should be able to stop during a count, i really hope that is the case!

The stoppage was 100% correct, but IMO it was a bit fast. A referee can stop the count at any time he like.

Excellent fight, and a good impression of Rocky Graziano by a brave, outgunned Ulrich. He just waded in looking for a pay off punch, and Adamek pretty much obliged by teeing off on the German's chin all night long.

Don King gripped hold of the Pole's arm after, and I doubt he'd have lost his hold even if a hurrican had blown in.

Don King looked really funny when ZDF interviewed Adamek in german/polish, he ad absolutly no idea of what they were talking about.

I watched this in disbelief, i know King likes to hold up the victors arm, but this took the buscuit. He had Adameks arm up for 5 fcuking minutes, i think Adamek was afraid to offend him by pulling away, surely he must have wanted to.

Yes I think Adamek was being way too polite, he should've shaken off the grinning leech in short order.

Think it shows how desparate King is these days: gone are the days when he had fighters like JC Chavez on the backburner, hidden away on Tyson undercards.
Now he travels 1/2 way round the world for fighters like Adamek, McCall & Larry Donald - something he'd never have done in his prime.

Freiheit, at the weigh in their hands looked the same to me...what do you think?

And what did Luan say???

Thanks for the info, and good job on the round by round :TU:

Luan said thats what happens when you are a challenger, he would have like to get a bigger size gloves for his fight vs Brewster. He also said that if you use a bigger glove (and you got the hand for it) you can hit harder since you can thighten your fists more. Ulrich claimed he had long fingers. They measured a size L and size XL glove, and the XL glove is around 1cm longer from one end of the glove to the other.

Freiheit wrote:...Luan said that if you use a bigger glove (and you got the hand for it) you can hit harder since you can thighten your fists more...
Bullshit, he was just supporting Urlich.

The fact is, the bigger the glove is, the softer the punch is, since you get a bigger surface that hits you and the weight is the same. It is also easier to block punches when your opponent has bigger gloves.

Urlich wanted bigger gloves to increase the probability the fight would go the distance, which he bealieved would be to his favour.

It is plain stupid to say Urlich wanted bigger gloves to hit harder and receive harder shots. The opposite is true.
The same applies for Brewster-Krasniqui fight.

Freiheit, thanks for the info. One mroe thing: In an interview (http://sport.interia.pl/news?inf=677388) in Polish Adamek said Ulrich actually wanted heavier gloves (heavier by 4 OUNCES), as opposed to longer gloves. I think this is incorrect, and Adamek is in the dark about the situation since his manager took care of it. I guess you are pretty sure that it was glove length, not glove weight, that was the issue?

Anyway, Latuch, I agree with you. Ulrich wanted to use pillows so the fight would go the distance, in my opinion (smart move, too). No such luck though. He got KTFO fair and square. :TU:

If he really wanted heavier gloves, my theory would be fake...

But i can't see the point...

The gloves they showed on ZDF were both 10 ounce gloves thats all I know.

No man, they were 10 ounce gloves as Freiheit stated, but Ulrich's wouldve been LONGER, so I think your theory is correct.
