I have seen that martin power is boxing david gueault for the european

(ebu-eu) title on december 3rd.

I have also seen that simone maludrottu will be defending his european(ebu) title against carmelo ballone on 11/12/2005 next week.

Could anybody tell me the difference between each title and do they have any views on david gueault.

I rate power as an excellent boxer and taking on this fight has impress me,with away advantage aswell and experience going against him.

I would still tip him to win and was hoping others would share their opions with me.

EU is a small EBU wher eonly boxers that are EU citizens can fight for. Its almost like the intercontineltal belt for the world federations, but here there are mandatory defenses.

Guerault used to be a good boxer but he has faded badly the last couple of years.

I cannot see the Gueault fight happening, not so soon after the war with Napa.

I believe Gueault has slipped a bit, but if he is anything like the fighter who destroyed Ady Lewis then he will beat Power, Gueault (used to be at least) fringe world class, and I would say Power is fringe European title class. Different level, unless he is shot.

i thotuhgt napa was unlucky but tough fight to score.

power I thought was overtly dismissive inthe post fight interview you didnt win it easily son it could have gone either way so less of the cockiness.

Seems to have started in the bar and dragged through to the main hall.
A lot of comotion and a couple of flare ups on the way to the main doors, but not really anything to talk about.
I thought it was very close on the night but after watching it back on tape I had Power winning 116 - 113, but some rounds could have gone either way. Good idea to now have 3 judges. Great fight.

BUT COULD ANYBODY HELP ME OUT,I AM CONFUSED BUT HOW DOES ISSACK WARD BECOME NUMBER 1 CONTENDER TO FIGHT FOR THE BRITISH BAMTANWEIGHT TITLE WHEN HE HAS MAINLY FOUGHT AT FEATHER AND SUPER FEATHER WEIGHT.

On the fight I scored a draw, there have to be serious concerns over Power's chin though as Napa can't crack an egg but had him in serious bother. I'd love to see a rematch.

Isaac Ward was 8 7 last time out and previous to that boxed at around 8 10.....so he`s bantam....Power got two back to back controversial decisions over blown up flyweights,hardly inspiring.Geurault used to be an excellent fighter but has faded.....but Power is strictly domestic class.

JUST HAD A LOOK AT BOXREC AND THEY HAVE ISSACK WARD RATED AS A SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT,

I HAVE ALSO HAD A LOOK AT HIS RECORD AND HAVE SEEN THAT IN ALL OF HIS FIGHTS HE HAS ONLY WEIGHT IN AS A BANTAMWEIGHT ONCE

WHICH WAS LAST TIME OUT BECAUSE HE HAD ALREADY BEEN CHOSEN TO FIGHT THE WINNER OF POWER VERUS NAPA,AND THEREFORE HAD TO GET DOWN TO BANTAMWEIGHT TO PREPARE HIMSELF FOR THE WINNER AS HE HAS NEVER FOUGHT AT BANTAM.

HIS TWO FIGHTS PREVIOUSLY WAS AT FEATHER AND SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT.

I had Napa winning by a couple of rounds, its a shame he can't punch a bit harder. Power dismissed him a bit too much afterwards "There aint no way you won that fight" he said in an accent i can't decipher, i thought it was very tight and Power knew it.

Power is a gypsy hence the odd accent. Power should definitely rematch Napa or Robinson.

Think Robinson is going to be back down in the fly/superfly divisions,

On reflection I am not sure Power will go much further than domestic class, in all honesty he's been lucky in many peoples eyes to get by two much smaller flyweights in his 2 British title fights and both have had him hurt. Neither is a knockout puncher at fly let alone up at bantam, I have the feeling he might get stretched when he steps it up against genuine bantams at euro level.

I agree with you, Power is a good fighter at British level but both wins have been very tight and against smaller guys. Talk of European class or above i think is too much at this stage, bit maybe down the line he could make that jump.

Not only that but Napa offically lost to Callaghan. He thought Napa won, but Callaghan did close the score towards the end.

I KNOW NAPA ALSO STARTED HIS CAREER AT FLY BUT DE LA HOYA STARTED HIS CAREER AT SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT AND MOVED ALL THE WAY UP TO LIGHT MIDDLE I THINK.

BOTHS FIGHTS WERE VERY CLOSE AND I FOR ONE WOULD LOVE TO SEE AGAIN.

IAN NAPA IMPRESSED ME WITH THE STRENGH HE SHOWED BUT AS FOR ROBINSON ,I THINK HE MAY BE FINISH (JUST MY OPION) BUT HE DIDNT LOOK HIMSELF IN HIS LAST FIGHT.

I do agree with Martin in that there isn't much left for Power domestically at Bantam, unless Wilders can get motivated.

Armour is shot, Culshaw seems to be retired and Wilders has looked more likely to fight at Feather than Welter.

Take Napa and Robinson out of the equation and the next fighter in the line is Mark Moran, who is a novice pro.

Why no talk of rematches, both fights were excellent and close enough to warrant a second match.

I AGREE THAT POWERS NEXT FIGHT SHOULD HAVE BEEN EITHER ROBINSON OR NAPA.

COULD SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW ISSAC WARD GETS A CHANCE BEFORE DALE ROBINSON OR NAPA.

RICKY OWEN HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE,NICE WIN LAST TIME OUT OVER RAKHIM MINGALEEV,

Powers record flatters him. I thought he had very little power and a poor chin. If Napa had the experience of a couple of knockouts on his record, he could have finished the fight and that would have been humiliating for Power. I do not expect Power to be anything better than British level and he'll be doing well to keep defending that a few more times.
