The Promoter is Minardi Sports Promotions.
Can I politely ask you a question? What DOES Allegedly's dick actually taste of?

I'm sure the board have been wondering about this, and you are most likely to know the answer....
THATS A BIT OTT E.

you might not agree with boxing chat all the time but I for one an interested in hearing a different opinion from time to timeother than one of you lot calling Warren a this or that for no decent reason that is.

Thank you 'J' at last someone who is sick and tired of this anti-Warren crap that as you rightly say is for no reason and with no real knowledge of the business.

I bet infact if you made a list of the positves of FW combined with the positives of all other promoters combined he will still come out on top.

Money for Watson, MRI's for all boxers and better purses to start.

I couldn't care less either way but as in all subjects records and stats speak for themselves.

In fairness, J isn't alone here in trying to remain fair handed about Sports Network and allegedly.

Warren deserves the plaudits where they are due, and the brickbats where they are not.

What is undeniable, is that allegedly knows more about the boxing business than I will ever have the priviledge of knowing, but for this reason BC, if people aren't always well informed, you have to accept that they can only base their opinion on what they are allowed to know...

I think also you have to realise, that part of the reason SN come in for criticism, is that they have been top dogs for a very long time, for a period allegedly was the only guy with any real access to TV money, and had the tranatlantic contact with Showtime's Jay Larkin, and this automatically sets him up for a fall.

Lest we forget, allegedly was once a young buck trying to break through into the boxing world which was held in the thrall of the cartel with the assistance of the BBBofC. Warren kicked down the door and fought tooth and nail to get to the top of the pile.

However, in doing so, it is arguable that ultimately, the competition was stifled, and we ended up with a situation where the domestic scene was heavily controlled by Sky and Sports Network, which whichever way you look at it, is not good for a sport which has no central governing body to redress the balance.

This doesn't make him a bad guy, it's just a fact of life that someone in that positition is going to be open to criticism. It's a mark of success that someone gets criticised to heavily.

A lot of people got turned off by too many uncompetitive matchups, and whilst this may have been great news for the fighters in the SN camp, it ultimately isn't good for boxing as a whole.

Lets hope that the association with ITV, and Sky's decision to pick and choose fights more carefully will rejuvenate the sport and bring it back into the public consciousness.

Spoken like a true politician James. :D

Truth is, once Frank made top of the pile, he cut costs, and gave us crap fight after uncompetitive crap fight, coz he could put them on for peanuts, and make max profits. Some pearlers were stumbled across along the way, but ultimately his assets were protected at the cost of the paying public. Let's not forget some of the tripe opponents we have seen in the ring with the likes of Calzaghe, Hatton, and Scott Harrison over the last few years. Tocker Pudwill, Evans Ashira, Dennis Pedersen, the list goes on and on.

Now I'm not saying he has not done a lot for boxing in his time, I'm just saying having monopolized the game, for the last couple of years, he has plundered it for his own gain.

For his own gain? What about the many rich young fighters he has handled, Hamed, Benn, Hatton to name but a few. He recently raised money for Watson and Debra which is in addition to the bailing out of the BBBC and the MRI fund all highly commendable. Just because he is less accessable than many doe not make him a bad guy. Plus he has kept a good staff in employment for a number of years too which can't be scoffed at. A couple I know of live good quality lifestyles all thanks to Warren. Never actually met him but Matty Skelton holds him and his firm in high regard.

I honestly think this will be Nelson's last fight.

Tom Podmore.
I hope not. Nelson's getting extra mileage with the ten pound increase at cruiser. I mean ten pounds is a lot for a 39 (or so) year old. Plus, he has a decent style to get him through these fights without exerting himself too much. Although that can be like watching paint dry (vs Petkovic), he's still effective. I wish Warren would seek out a career defining fight for Nelson.

My main problem with Warren is the fights that haven't been made because he contorles the top fighters. Think Hatton v Witter or Calzaghe and Maccanneli vs people who hit back.

Mac seems to be another fighter who Warren doesn't have faith in as a world beater so he is trying to make money out of him while he can.

Shit, you gotta be joking!! He pays some of his fighters well. SOME, a few. Not fornicating many though!!
Truth is, uncompetetive bouts, where he does not have to pay danger money to the house fighter. Public pay, he keeps the rest.
If he put on better fights, he'd have to pay his fighters more, they would sometimes lose, and his proffits would half...... Computor says NO

You seem to think that a businessman making profit is wrong, why? How do YOU know what he pays or what he makes, or for that matter what is own operating costs are? How many Boxers have moaned about being under paid by Warren, not many I can recall. Even Hatton has admitted he is getting less so what is your problem with him. It appears to be personal and that is clouding the issue.

Nothing is wrong with him making a profit, but when costs are cut to make max profit, at the expense of making crap bouts it stsrts top piss people off. Mate, we can go on like this all day.. Are you happy with the fights that Warren puts on? Seriously?

Now he's made some crackers in his time, but he's also delivered alot of shite! Who can forget the Hatton v Pinto escapade? Or more recently Evans Ashira?

Fair enough if you want to stick up for FW Mick. But as detective Columbo
likes to say: Just one more question sir - are you boxingchat's illegitimate twin? You sound very similar...hmmmmmm strange that.

Love to hear how Frank justifies his approving the upcoming Enzo horror show this weekend. As cynical a mismatch as you'll ever see and needs an XXX rating.
