Maussa makes Mayorga look like Joe Louis.

Strange, ticket sales are slow, allegedly, and yet there's no public workouts, press conferences etc. Surely FA must be hoping to get some ink in the last few days, in hopes of shifting some more tickets...

Anyone going to tomorrow's weigh in?

"This fight will not go the distance," says WBA jr welterweight champion Carlos Maussa. "I will cut him open. He's had these kind of problems before. My hometown people will be dancing again when they hear I have knocked out Hatton." The Columbian has not been dishing out much praise to IBF counterpart Ricky Hatton in recent days. "Hatton is not a good boxer, he is a fighter," stated Maussa. "I feel Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather are better than Hatton. They have better style and they are better boxers with more punching power......[Hatton] is not creative and he only has one style of fighting. It is very possible that I could open cuts on him and the referee will stop it - it is going to be a knockout fight."

Hatton, meanwhile, dropped the bombshell that he may be through fighting in his homeland. "It looks likely Maussa could be my last fight in Britain," Hatton said. "None of the big names seem to want to come here, so it seems all the big fights for me are in the US." As far as Maussa, Hatton stated, "Carlos throws a lot of punches and has a good work-rate, but I've not worked too hard to get to this stage to blow it now."

One thing that winds me up, Hatton is the IBF world champion, one of the big 3 belt organisations. Why does he continually show of that WBU piece of crap! He is showing it in the picture above and there is no sign of the IBF belt!?

The sooner this is over the better, if I have to hear Adam Smith say KOSTYAAAAAAA TSZYUUUUUU one more time I'll swing for the wanker.

He has two belts if you look closely.

Aha, I think I can just about see it down his back. Still, I think he should have left the WBU as his kitchen door stop at home...

That belt has enabled Hatton to get where he is today. Without it, Sky would never have bought all those fights, and the crowds probably wouldn't have come in such numbers....

Whatever he says he is the worst boxing commentator I have ever heard, god only knows why Sky employ him. He must be noshing off one of the execs or something.

Anyone know what time the weigh in is today?

The man gets a lot of criticism, but for all we know he could be boxing dweeb by day, dogging guru by night.

I am picking Hatton to win by TKO in about 8 rounds.

its just taken Maussa three attempts to make the weight, early night for Hatton i recon.

Depends how much weight he had to shift - not much by the sounds of it, so might not make much of a difference tomorrow night.

Hatton was bang on as usual. He's probably had six big macs by now, as a starter.

Hatton eats this guy a live inside six. More than likely 3-5. Maussa has some balls if nothing else.

But talk of this as a WORLD-CLASS fight are incorrect. Maussa won the lottery and he's here to collect his cheque.

If he works the body well then I'd expect him to finish it within 8. All Maussa really has is a puncher's chance,

Anyone seen the Resto fight? I thought Maussa looked quite impressive that night (technical and aesthetic issues aside), and he seems a determined and tough guy; but I agree with the general consensus that it all depends on whether or not the Hatton who overwhelmed Tszyu shows up.

If he does, he rapes Maussa and it's all over in about four rounds; if not, then I think it'll be dirty and rough as hell, with Hatton squeaking a points win.

Some crayzee Yanks I know are splurging a few dollars on Maussa, though, although at nearly 8/1 you can't exactly blame 'em..

Rumour is that Maussa has been maintaining his weight all week by living in the sauna.

Not a good sign for him.

Just read in another thread that Maussa only made the weight on the 3rd attempt, looks as if he must have starved himself to make it. doesn't look good for him. He might be able to get some strength back into himself in the next 24hrs, but so will Hatton who made the weight at the 1st attempt

Hatton's very ready, he'll have Maussa on unsteady legs soon enough in this fight. Few left hooks to the body, he'll soon feel himself go. Not good having three goes at the weight in the biggest fight of Maussa's life.

Anyone catch the Hatton chat on 'S.occer am' this morning? He mentioned something about Maussa not wanting to used the Mexican Reyes punchers gloves and has opted for Everlast.

I thought that Maussa would be using every advantage possible to get the KO, maybe he didn't fancy the Reyes crashing into his ribs
