Doubt he's coming. The Hattons are off to Vegas next week to meet Golden Boy. Assuming Ricky wins like.

'Barrera is a friend of Hatton's apparently'
How can they be 'friends' when Barrera can't speak a fornicating word of English? Have you ever seen him speak? His English is pathetic. Me not Hatton Friend! Me not come to fight! Me have not interest in Hatton or his fight!

Actually, his English is OK. He's not very confident in front of camera but it's good enough for a slow conversation

Fight Academy/Team Hatton set the record straight
Promoters Robert Waterman, Dennis Hobson and Team Hatton, who stage Ricky Hatton's light-welterweight unification bout against WBA titleholder Carlos Maussa on Saturday (Nov 26) night at the FM Hallem Arena in Sheffield, have hit back at recent statements made by certain public media outlets.
At a press conference at the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield earlier today, Waterman on behalf of partners Hobson and Jim Evans, felt that they needed to set the record straight about recent reports, especially regarding a particular comment made by Hatton's previous promoter allegedly in his News of the World column a number of weeks ago.
Below is that statement
****
"Due to the petty squabbling surrounding this fight I feel myself, Dennis, Fight Academy and Team Hatton must put certain things to rest. As far as we can see there has been a sustained campaign to sabotage this fight from taking place.
First there was an attempted injunction in the High Court in London to stop the fight from taking place, there was an injunction sought in New York attempted by M'baye(Souleymane M'baye WBA No.1 contender) to stop the WBA sanctioning this fight.
Prior to this fight the sanctioning of this fight was challenged at the WBA convention in Korea. The venue itself was threatened with a lawsuit if they staged this event. In all cases and I repeat in all cases the law has found in our favour, unequivocally.
Furthermore we have been vilified by the public media, Team Hatton, myself, Dennis and Richard Poxon. We have been accused of breaking Boxing Board of Control regulations and running unlicensed fights. We have been accused of threatening the lives of fighters (because of being unlicensed). We categorically deny this.
Furthermore we think that any breach of regulations should be for the British Boxing Board of Control to bring to light, not in newspapers and not by allegedly or any of his staff. I very much regret having to make this statement but I felt that with all what has been put in the public media, you the press needed to hear our side. Also word has been going around that Marco Antonio Barrera will not be at the fight and furthermore he was never coming, but I have had an email from him to say that he will be arriving tomorrow (Friday).

boxingchat wrote:According to Fight Academy the superstar attendances at this weekends poorly attended event in Sheffield is truly impressive. The role call will surely entice the stay-away's to think again and snap up one of the coldest tickets in town.
According to FA today, not only will Tyson be carrying Hattons belt (If they pay him a fee!) and Floyd Mayweather will be attending (Until he denied all knowledge of it in Boxing News) and now, wait for it (Roll on the drums) Marco Antonio Barrera is flying over to 'meet Hamed for the first time since their epic battle'
However, MAB is happily spending the weekend in Mexico and has just confirmed on the telephone "Me know nothing, Fight Academy, Who they a a TV show?"
Hype is one thing but blatant lies? Come on...Tut Tut... Fight Academy.
"A spokesman said today "You wouldn't believe the shit they are asking me to put out, it's ridiculous"
And still they can't sell tickets....Bin Laden at Ringside maybe, Lord Lucan and Martin Boorman holding the round card. Jesus Riding around on Shergar... just a few ideas that may help them sell some tickets.
There you go, you thick c unt. I saw Barrera there with my own eyes. You look like a right gobshite now.

Will you be posting an apology if he turns up then?
My guess is: No, he won't. In fairness, I'm impressed that Barrera is over here. Which leads to the obvious question: Is Naz at ringside?

OKAY Why would Barrera come here to watch a crap card other than to talk about a big fight - Hamed of Harrison - I'd go with Hamed to pull a SRLeonard at 135. Barrera should win the IBF belt

Doesn't Naz have an interest in one of the unercard fighters? if that is the case it seems to make sence for him to be at ringside.
Boxingchat will you write an appoligy for liying to us on this forum otherwise I think we should request the Moderaters bar him from the forum in order to stop any accusations of Lible on the forum.

It'll be funny to see boxingchat's face if he's sitting next to MAB tonight
So will the mysterious Mr Hamed be showing up too? Don't imagine he'll fancy sitting next to his old nemesis - his sides will be hurting at the thought of it!
Tyson and Lacy be there too?
