...jorge...great choice!!! I thought mcGirt was perfect in that one. he was one of my favorite fighters and highly under dated.


for those who get espn classic,. there was an excellent one of Maxim against irish bob murphy. first time i've seen it since when it was on live tv in 1951, and it's one i've always remembered.

I had forgot about McGirt...I thought he had a pretty good chance to beat Whitaker, but it was probably a little too late in his career when he fought him...that plus Whitaker was just a little too good!
